Great, another psycho actress willing to allow hundreds or thousands of children to die by ignoring the medical evidence.

Good job, Alicia.  I hope they add your name to the Jenny McCarthy bodycount website.

That's too bad.  I'd like her to run me over.  And then I'd like to run her over and over and over.

Psych's Maggie Lawson is an improved iteration of Alicia Silverstone anyway.

She's a farking moran, but anybody who takes their medical advice from an actor is worse.

Everything she needs to know about medicine she learned from script notes on MacGregor's Syndrome

I'll just go with "pretty dumb".

I always thought she looks like a young Elisabeth Shue. Though the internet seems to agree with you overwhelmingly.

Didn't she say she chewed food for her baby instead of using baby food?

Which raises the question: What did humans use to feed babies before Gerber?

And, pet food. Could you pick up a bag of Puppy chow in, let's say, the 18th century?

Of course.  And if you couldn't produce enough milk, you had two choices: hire a wetnurse if you're rich (which you probably aren't), or mash up whatever watery gruel you can find, and watch your baby die of malnutrition.  Which they did. In huge numbers.

Our ancestresses would have shanked every last one of us for a chance at vaccinations and epidurals.

How does "getting educated" not involve taking the advice of someone who spent over ten years getting their degree and is actively allowed to practice medicine as per the licensing of a state medical board?

Why is it only your retarded opinion after spending three hours one night on Google and trusting the advice doled out by "MommyJones43" on the "Mothers Against Darwin" discussion forum?

I don't let doctors give medicine to my kids unless I know more about it.
My daughter almost killed herself from anti-depressants. The doctor actually said, "Well, we'll just giving her stuff till something works."
Nope, not good enough.

It doesn't help when you get the rock stupid doctors. We had one that kept insisting she take aspirin even though we repeatedly told him she's extremely allergic. But since he couldn't think of anything else he wouldn't change his mind. So we found someone else.

That said, I don't think there's going to be an epidemic of NSAID poisoning.

Solid food. If you breast feed your kid for three years, it will be ready to start chewing real food by then. And so will you, guaranteed.

Herd immunity - look it up.  They don't just kill their kids, they kill people around them who cannot be vaccinated due to allergies or for the rare cases where the immunization was not effective.

Not sure about baby food, but pets will farking kill and eat whatever they farking want if they're hungry enough.  Your kitten or puppy doesn't need pre-chewed food once they are weaned.  Human babies might.

So Clueless was really a biography.

"The problem is we're using it as a first step for everything, even when it's not needed."

I don't disagree with her here. Way too many doctors throwing antibiotics at every single sniffle without testing whether or not someone is even suffering from bacterial related illnesses. Now, we're just beginning to see how dangerous this game is with resistant strains popping up.

If you're trying to say that vaccines, which have been proven to be so safe and successful that they've been given to BILLIONS of people and essentially wiped out many diseases, and anti-depressants, which are attempting to treat brain diseases that aren't yet fully understood, are the same, you're right about one thing. Everyone else on the planet is smarter than you.

Depression is a serious, complex mental illness. If you're not trolling and your daughter really suffers from it, I'm sorry, but she could commit suicide whether she's on anti-depressants or not. That's a fact. Your doctor's bedside manner sucks, but s/he's right; no two depressed people are exactly alike and the best doctors can do with anti-depressants is try different drugs -- and sometimes combinations of drugs -- until things get better. So, NOT taking anti-depressants is still a viable option. Personally, I'd rather try something and watch for signs that they're either not working or making the problem worse, than do nothing and hope your daughter just "cheers up." But that's me. YMMV.

But polio, measles, mumps, etc., no longer have the devastating effects they did 60 years ago precisely because vaccines work. Doctors understand very well what makes these diseases tick and how to prevent them from spreading in large populations. Refusing to vaccinate your kids...well, I'm not going so far as to say that's child abuse, but it's certainly not supported by facts.

Sorry for your daughter, but sometimes people are broken, and you cannot fix them. And doctors do try their best but for the most part when something bad happens you blame the doctor.

My father is an absolute douchebag.  Brilliant, kind, etc.  But has fathered unclaimed children, caused the world grief, conned people, and my grandmother lived for 60 years making excuses for him.
c
When she was at her later years she told me "promise me your will not be your father, he is toxic, and whatever mental instability he has, I now know it is not my fault, if I had loved him more, I would have walked away.  You have a lot of him in you, realize that, and fix yourself".

I work with about ten anti vaxxers, and they buy antibiotics in mexico and canada buy the truckload, they are much worse than docs.
