So the dead vote in Chicago, and in Bridgeport the pets do, too?  Does she get a homestead exemption on her doghouse, as well?

There ain't nothing in the rules that says a dog can't-

-Actually RTFA-

Oh, he named his dog after his name suffix, IV, and the summons was meant for him. So... yeah.

/The fark is up with that site?

A dog can probably grasp the basics of modern American jurisprudence better than your average human American.

But interestingly, the voir dire reveals that they are about as smart as half the potential jurors.

Well, when you register your dog to vote, they automatically get thrown into the jury pool.

But it is argued on Fark repeatedly that there is NO SUCH THING AS VOTER FRAUD!!!  So clearly showing an ID to vote is racist, just like when Mandella required it.

You're trying too hard. Or not hard enough. Either way, it doesn't work.

So someone DRTFA, did they?
The Cumberland County Judiciary Coordinator indicates the computer generated jury summons likely misplaced the roman numeral IV for Barrett's first name and then mailed it out.

See, if the guy committed voter fraud, he wouldn't have gone to all of this trouble to fix it, contacting the county offices, talking to the news, etc...

Great, now Hollywood is going to start pitching a movie that is a cross between 12 Angry Men and Air Bud.

They should include a valium IV when they call you for jury duty.

I take offense to that.  Of course I don't read the articles! You don't need to question my non reading the article stance.

I find that a shrill whistle and a bowl full of meat byproducts will suffice.

A typo for his name just happened to be his dog's name. Who fraking cares? Get your ass to court as you've been summoned.

Don't take that particular combination of drugs again.

Well it is New Jersey

If the dead can vote in Hudson County, early and often, dogs can sit on juries down in Bridgeton

I guess the radio stations and websites you frequent left out the part that the GOP wants you to have more than a regular ID.  They want you to have a 2nd VOTER ID.

Well, I wouldn't have a problem with that on principal since I registered at the DMV. They generally hand out IDs there all the time.

But I would think showing any federal or state ID to vote should suffice.

Nope - fark 'em. One of the legal system's greatest pleasures is the exploitation of technicalities. They can deal with the reality they've created.

If monkeys can write Shakespeare, then dogs can serve on juries.

I for one welcome our new canine overlords.

Being a "lucky" individual who has been called 6 times (and counting), I would totally have taken the dog to the court on jury day.  If they questioned it, the documentation backs up the owner: According to TFA, the owners name is clearly not "IV" (regardless of suffix) and the summons name was exactly as printed on the Veterinarian's record.  They'd have no choice but to release the dog from jury duty.  (And I suppose, enter the owner's name back into the pool.)

Would be totally worth it for the consternation caused in the court house.

Bark once if not guilty
Bark twice if guilty

At least the dog would be sober.
