Close enough to get kicked is close enough to get sucked into the train.

2014-04-16 01:11:19 PM
Yeah.  Trying to murder someone for taking a selfie is totally both rational and heroic.

BSABSVR: Yeah.  Trying to murder someone for taking a selfie is totally both rational and heroic.

Yeah I had a similar thought. He could have knocked the kid down, he could have wound up under the wheels. Completely idiotic thing to do.

Funny as shiat, but idiotic.

gilgigamesh:  he could have wound up under the wheels.

Which would teach him never to do it again, right?

It should be legal everywhere.

Was the conductor a student of Ti Kwan Leep?

2014-04-16 01:38:12 PM
Close enough to get kicked means he was trespassing, at least here in the States.

2014-04-16 01:45:47 PM
One down, a shiatload left to go...

InterruptingQuirk: Close enough to get kicked means he was trespassing, at least here in the States.

trespassing still does not validate assault, or manslaughter. There were so many things that could have gone wrong there, as noted above he could have actually pulled the kid in to the wheels of the train, he could have broken his neck, he could have caused irreparable harm. The engineer is a just as big of a dumbass as the kid is.

Do I smell a lawsuit?

Mythbusters busted that one.

You can hear the train blow its horn and somebody yelling at him and still the moran doesn't move. The conductor probably thought he was being helpful to someone too stupid or mentally disabled to get the fark out of the way.

Sure, though then he'll have to admit to his trespassing.

2014-04-16 01:51:31 PM
The conductor was doing him a service.  That boot couldn't have extended out more than a foot or two from the edge of the train.  It's possible that cars coming up behind him had similar, harder protuberances, which might have seriously harmed him if he'd stayed in place.  That conductor actually saved his life.   Hero tag totally OK here.

Plus, the kid is a weapons-grade douchebag who forfeited all his due process rights by standing there.  You jump the fence into the junkyard, you're welcoming Chopper to sic your balls.

Obviously the kid's an idiot:

Michael says in the video. "I think I got that on film!"

Stupid kid, cellphones don't use film.

Oh, and don't stand so close to a moving train.

While I don't normally encourage kicking morons in the head (too many legal issues), if I were asked to solve this my file would look a lot like this:

Came for this^^^^^^^^^^

Well, he didn't actually end up under the wheels, so suck shiat.

My father was a train engineer so I am getting a kick out of these responses.

Even better, I bet the boots were steel-toed.

It appears to be a VIA rail train, it's the right colours anyway.  They operate in Canada mostly.

Trying to get somebody THE fark OUT OF DANGER RANGE by pushing them with the only thing that can reach (IE: their foot) is indeed rational and heroic.

You got that on film? Your cell phone must be bulky.

I'd be shocked if he didn't sue or at least try for a settlement.

Look at the bright side.  The kid got a much-deserved ass whooping.  Had he stayed in place without the kick, who knows, maybe he could have been injured anyway.

Only the most abject losers in a civilized society, will defend anyone putting themselves in Harm's Way, just to take a selfie.

2014-04-16 01:58:13 PM
So saving someone's life = good
Being aware for someone's well being by harming them a bit in comparison to their possible death = bad

Yep... We had 3 or 4 people a year get hit by a train in Flagstaff, most were people illegally crossing, or drunks on the tracks, but every once in awhile, someone got sucked in... 2/3 of downtown was on one side of the tracks, the rest on the other, and even waiting for a train  to go by, standing just outside the barrier, you could feel that shiat. It was actually pretty cool.

Actually that sounds like a pretty good defense of the boot to the head.

This is what I was thinking.

I would buy this engineer a beer if I could.  Too bad he only got him on the side of the head and not right in the face.

I didn't click, but only because as soon as I read it, I heard the entire sketch in my head.

But yeah, the teen might be a doucheball, but wouldn't what the conductor did be considered battery?

Maybe the engineer was trying to push the kid out of the way (for his own safety) and it ended up as a kick?
