Tom Hardy's in Guardians of the Galaxy?!

/He's the kind of actor I would never recognize in public.
//He's like a shapeshifter, able to change size and shape with ease

I hope he says all of his lines into a ceramic mug.

Oh you think ceramic mugs are his ally? You merely drink from a mug... He was born in it.

Best?  Do we have any empirical evidence to support that conclusion?

So his Oscar nomination is a..."Locke"?

Buried is pretty much the only evidence we have that Ryan Reynolds can act. In general, one-actor movies are an interesting experiment.

Don't be irrational- this movie is innately good.

Oh boy! A 90 minute movie about a guy in a car. I can't wait! Said no one ever.

No, no. If I'm going to watch it, I'm going in as a blank slate.

We don't need it. Locke is a priori good.

That's the first thing I thought of when I was watching the trailer.

I watched it because it was on Netflix, I was working and had nothing else to do. I was surprised at how good it was and it kept me enthralled until the end.

I know I'd rather see this over Spiderman 2. Typically when they do a movie with a premise like this it means they put extra care into other important elements like the writing, acting, editing, etc. Talented people can pull this off well.

I clicked on this thread to type the same sentiment. Dude is underrated only as we can't say how awesome an actor he is, and this is coming from a Trekkie who can't manage to drink enough to forget how terrible Nemesis was.

What is so groundbreaking about a 90-minute car commercial? Transporter did it. So did Quantum of Solace too. And they at least had hot chicks dispersed throughout.

Close, he played the holographic Time Lord known only as The Doctor on that space station near the Gamma Quadrant wormhole, Babylon 5.

I'm sure I'll love the film, but in the age where an episode of The Walking Dead that features character development and less than 5 zombie kills results in an uproar by the ADHD, stare at cell phone all day generation, I doubt it will do well mainstream.

I would love to do a showing of the insanely awesome Das Boot these days...the first couple scenes of silence and there would be hordes of people exiting the theatre.

No; that is the guy who played Loki in The Avengers, that movie based on an old British TV series.

You want gripping, move to Vermont.

Yes, he can do a excellent job of acting like a guy driving a car for 90 minutes.

How exciting.

If you judge a movie because it has "hot chicks" you have NO RIGHT to complain about anything; as you are a moron to whom the stupid stuios keep making crap for. Unless you are 15, then you get a pass.

"That movie sucked."
"Yeah...but it had a hot chick!!!"

So he'll be getting an explicit beej from a well known mainstream actress sometime during the movie?

...did she lose her SAG card for that?  It's supposedly a major violation of the SAG rules to be on-film engaging in actual sex acts.
