I guess this is why I am bad at advertising.  I would think pointing out 'hey buy this wine, look at the back to see how stained your teeth will be!' would be a bad thing.

Only way these could be better is if they had old-style pop tops.

It's all about the buzz.

Someone else will have to explain why this is effective marketing, though. I'm not qualified on that aspect.

There's nothing stopping you from putting wine in a (clean) beer bottle and capping it. I love wine in cans... great for hiking/beaches.

there is some decent box wine out there, snobmitter.

They should do a sparkling white wine and call it Champail.

If you have wine in your can, you're drinking it wrong.

Wine in a can is probably better than wine in a box, since the acidic wine can actually dissolve the plastic bag the wine is held in after a while.

Bota box and black box brands are both pretty good.

Why not just skip the middleman and sell wine in plastic bags?

My wife drinks a lot of wine (and works in a wine shop).  She says, indeed, Bota is generally quality stuff.  And very inexpensive.

I have never, ever heard of this problem.   The best article I could find about the bags in WIAB is here, and his largest concern is that the plastic allows larger amounts of oxygen from the outside than glass (still extremely small amounts, but more).  Why would wine manufacturers package wine in plastic that wine could dissolve?  The expiration dates seem to be based on oxygen absorption and/or chemical reactions from storing them at higher than recommended temperatures for a long time (over a year).

Damn straight, and those boxes sit nicely in the refrigerator too unlike this paint can.

Each batch of wine that I have done have all been bottled in beer bottles.  I already have them for the beer, why spend money when you don't.  And 12oz of wine fits better to my lifestyle.

The last Beaujolais I drank tasted like paint so I'm okay with this.

I'm drinking Bota wine out of a plastic cup while reading this in the bathtub, so I'm getting a real kick out of your reply.

And now that I think about it, you're the Farker who gave me my free month of TF. I drew a picture to show how we're BFFs, now that you're enabling two of my addictions.

I made you purple because purple is the best.

Latest issue of Alcoholmanac (Milwaukee's very interesting & free bimonthly alcohol and dining magazine) has a feature on buying wines on tap. I'm looking forward to trying that, it sounds like a brilliant idea.

Have you heard of this then it's effective marketing

There were probably 2,000 new products lunched last week, you probably didn't hear a thing about any of the others .
