I was born in Middlesex, sort of gender ambiguous.

Yes, but will that stop the hordes of gang raping illiterate mouth breathing cavemen who seem to populate said country? i think not,. Will this address the issue of overpopulation, or soul crushing poverty? Will this stop people from ignoring cows and going hungry? I would think it really wouldn't. In fact, beyond the good gesture, i would have to imagine that it was more of a slap in the face to Islam, who has certain groups that believe in one thing, and that is male domination over women, and keeping them pregnant and quiet and not seen. Not sure about Islams view of trans gendered people, but i would have to imagine its right up there with someone drawing a picture of Mohammad.

/Just saying, this should really piss off the pakistani right wing derpers.

Dear God, some of the posts on that site leave me wondering if they have to suck in drool after a good chuckle that goes "DURHURHURHUR!!", just like some stupid, Stetson-wearing, Tractors-listening redneck that used to live to me.

I mean he would literally go "DURHURHURHUR!!", and I'm not exaggerating.

Where have you been for the last 3K years?

>"transgendered people "
Western tradition applied incorrectly.

This is not going to please anyone, it is just going to piss off the other 383 genders.

I swear, there are more of them than genres of electronic music.

Why imagine or bet or guess when the information is out there?  Iran, for example, pays for gender transition. In Iran, the official, prevailing view is that it is better for a (presumed male-attracted) transwoman to transition and be a wife in a heterosexual marriage than to be in a homosexual relationship, or vice versa with a transman. It's problematic, as it confuses gender identity with sexuality, but it isn't "right up there with someone drawing a picture of Mohammed". As for what the common views are in Islam as it is practiced in India on transgendered people, well, maybe do some reading and find out rather than just making things up that fit with your own preconceived notions.

Anastacya: And yet, if you are raped in India and claim to have a vagina, no one cares.

That is not true.
The family of the girl cares as her value (bride price) is now zip.
rape of an unwed women (presumably a virgin) is as much an economic crime as a physical one.

The male's family cares because this could bring dishonor.

Also one should remember that India is huge and diverse so rape is treated differently depending who, where, what community, religion and sect the people belong to.

Nothing about India is simple.

I should have clarified more. I said "claim to have a vagina". I would be surprised if a person who is transgendered who identifies as female would be treated with the same degree of concern. While I cheer them for working forward, I am skeptical of the application of it.

We should be getting rid of the idea of a "gender". Men don't have to "act like a man". Women don't have to "act like a woman", Transgenderism is against the very ideals of progressiveness and should be wiped away.

In all seriousness, aren't "gender" and "sex" completely different things? One is a made up social construct, the other is biological, right?

/Yes, its lovely how they "sell" their children for a bribe to the highest bidder, so yes, a woman or girl who is rape raped, would be much less valuable than a unraped virgin. I would guess in that society, its much like a new car vs a used. You're just not going to get as much for it.

Also, because some people in America rape children, that means all Americans rape children.
