Death and hatred to mankind,

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor

The fact that Putin will use this as an excuse to invade and occupy the Ukraine is not.

Meh, Obama can't stand up against a rancher, much less Putin.

But he is good at surveiling law abiding citizens.

Should have gone with "0bama". But nice spelling error. 4/10

Yea I missed an "L".  Holy fark.

But my point stands.  Obama is in over his head. Community organizer, yea he's qualified to give out free legal advice. President of the US and leader of the free world, not qualified. He's good at whipping up followers to a frenzy, but is he a true leader? no.  He never takes responsibility.

And what woudl you do? Start WWIII?

Doing nothing will start WWIII. Early action prevents a worse outcome later.  How do you handle a bully? Let him grow?

But Obama can't do it.  A real leader could threaten Putin and Putin would consider.  Obama threatens, and Putin knows it means nothing.

You still didn't answer the question. Threaten Putin with what? What would you do?

Me. I would say that I would put up a no fly zone and bomb air fields if Putin were to invade. Putin wouldn't do it. He couldn't handle the repercussions (Russian domestic, and militarily). That would stop his march and probably get him kicked out of the Kremlin.

What's better? He's not gonna listen to diplomacy. He has Europe by the balls.

You're going to bomb Ukraines airfields? Don't they have enough problems already?

Because you sure as hell didn't just suggest bombing Russia, that would be right up there with the A-10 guys.

Put down the Call of Duty game controller, pick up any reading material about the Russian air force, Russian air defense systems, and, oh, the Russian nuclear arsenal, and proceed to whack yourself in the head with it until you realize how dangerously stupid an idea this is.

Ukraine constantly reinforces Eastern borders, as also puts the troops in key positions in the East, where they can be able to react quickly, if there would be any orders for them. People, equipment, ammunition are going east one step at a time (because Ukraine doesn't have either trained troops or money/resources to mount any large-scale operation). It's not just 300 people, for heavens sake.

Other parts of article are also written on exactly the same level we've came to expect from CNN. Atrocious.

Pro-Russian separatists in Kramatorsk captured 6 armored vehicles of Ukraine army. The people of the city surrounded the vehicles, refusing to let them move forward or back. Army of Ukraine refused to open fire at population. A bit later armed separatists came, after a bit of discussion with Ukrainian army, without any actual shots fired, Ukrainian army surrendered and left their BTRs, or agreed to disarm and move BTRs away; actual information is sparse, but the video at least shows armored vehicles surrounded by locals and separatists in control.

It's pretty hard to use army against separatists when separatists are supported by local population. You just can't shoot the people.

God Dammit so much!

SOME of the Ukrainian people are really pissing me off...  They would rather stop their own army who refuses to hurt them, disarm them, and go running back to russian supporters that are rioting, taking over police stations, roughing up people and threatening media.  fark these clowns.

Actually, you can but there are understood and legal methods of riot control that should be used to disperse, detain and arrest folks who are demonstrating, attempting to foment sedition and anarchy.  It won't win the hearts and minds of folks, but it would probably allow the Unkrainian Government to identify perpetrators.  There is a theory that many of the separatists are Russian soldiers who have infiltrated.  If some unidenitified and unidentifiable persons are detained and found to be Russians, I would think that would be hard for the Putin administration to explain away.  "Hey, we heard noises and we wandered over the border to see what was going on?"  Once that particular ruse is exposed as false, especially if more than 1 or 2 Russian military folks are detained, he could either double down on his gambit and actually invade (removing all doubt) or pull back.  He would be exposed and prodded to take a course of action.

There are tactics that the Ukrainian military can take to lawfully protect themselves, advance and put some space between themselves and agitators.  They should be prepared for the tactics used by the separatists and act accordingly.

From http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-27045534 -

Ukrainian troops have entered the eastern town of Kramatorsk a day after an operation began to recapture areas seized by anti-government separatists.

But the Ukrainian defence ministry says six armoured personnel carriers were captured by pro-Russian militants.

Excellent work there, gentlemen.

ciberido: I don't  suppose you have a link to an actual article demonstratig the truth of what you say, do you?

I have posted an actual freakin video, no? Any English-speaking article would be some days behind. But here it is:

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-27045534

I've actually dismissed the information that some part of Ukraine's own army switched sides, because I have no independent confirmation for it, but here it is, right in the article:

"A soldier guarding one of the carriers told Reuters he was a member of Ukraine's 25th airborne brigade from Dnipropetrovsk, a city also in eastern Ukraine.
He said the soldiers had had no food for four days until local people fed them.
"All the soldiers and the officers are here," he said. "We are all boys who won't shoot our own people.""

There are plenty of videos right now where separatists drive captured vehicles - check the one here:  http://tsn.ua/politika/ukrayinsku-bronetehniku-na-donbasi-zahoplyuval i -separatisti-z-krimu-345694.html

This is a Ukrainian-language article from very pro-West-Ukrainian source, with their own journalists, so it's unlikely that it will be influenced by Russian propaganda, no? They say that one of the separatists said that their unit is called "Crimea", however, no other identifying information was offered.

The armored vehicles themselves are driven, by the words of the separatists, by actual Ukrainian Army soldiers-drivers, who switched sides and went to separatists. He (separatist) says that they (Ukrainian Army currently in the vehicles) weren't fed for days, tired and dirty, and now locals bring them food and stuff. He (separatist) says that they "just talked" to the Ukrainian Army, and that they've decided to switch sides.

All that I wrote here is based on the video - by the pro-Ukrainian TSN network - and what is said in it.

Thank you.

My concern is whose side the Ukrainian people are actually on, both in Crimea and now in these other eastern parts of Ukraine.  If they genuinely want to leave Ukraine and become either part of Russia or an entirely independent nation, my inclination would be to let them.  If, on the other hand, only a few locals really like Russia all that much and the false IMPRESSION of a popular uprising is being crafted by Russian astroturfing, then I would be more than happy to see the Russians expelled by force.

Grahor, while he may be a very honest and honorable person, clearly has a pro-Russia agenda and so I tend to be very skeptical of anything he says in these threads.  Thus my desire to get as unbiased and accurate information on the issue as I can.
