Noah proceeded to storm out, cursing each individual snowflake and giving the polar vortex the finger.

As a Detroit - I empathize with him. April 15th, 24 hours after 70 degrees and we get three inches.

Nope not at all. I have nothing against Florida. I just can't stand Noah. I can't put my finger on what it is, but he's got a very punchable face.

I can't say I've even paid much attention to the NBA lately. I used to be a Lakers fan, til Metta World Asshat got on the roster, then I gave up. I've just wanted to punch Noah in his fish-looking face from the time he was at Florida.

When the Bulls drafted Noah, I was mad, because I had the same overall feeling about him. Just everything about Noah seemed to be designed to make people not like him.

But then once he started playing, I gained a lot of respect for him. He works friggin hard, every night. His antics can be a bit needling, but nothing terrible, and it's entertaining when it's coming from someone on your team.

The only people that shouldn't like him are people from Cleveland.

Correction, he's the antithesis of one aspect (flopping) of what people hate about the NBA. He often gets called out for the other one (being a dirty player). His mouth also tends to write checks his body and skills can't cash.

So people dont like the NBA because the players flop and are dirty players?  We have be in different threads and worlds for the last 10 years then.

What about the guys game do you dislike?  What about his approach to basketball do you dislike?

For what it is worth I have never heard Noah called a dirty player.

Apparently you missed out on the Bruce Bowen retirement thread, among others. It was a bit ironic as the Spurs also have the biggest reputation for flopping now.

See above. Also, in response to being asked if he was a dirty player or he just did dirty work, he said, "There is a difference, though. Difference between dirty work, dirty player. There is a difference, but I don't know ..." This statement is made all the more peculiar by his hypocritical hatred for KG whom he has called a dirty player several times.

Or you could go back and watch the 2013 playoff series against the Heat where Noah engaged in just a few too many extracurriculars. Or you could search for "Joakim Noah technical" on YouTube.and watch him get a technical before throwing the ball at a ref to secure the double technical.

So Danny Granger, a heated rival, said he was a dirty player in 2011 and that makes it so.

I did the Google search too and found all that stuff you posted.  There isnt much else.  That Chris Paul video, from an All Star Game, doesnt look like it was on purpose.

I do watch him play and he has been awesome this year.  There is a difference between dirty work (playing hard under the rim and banging bodies) and being a dirty player.

Noah does not have a reputation for being a dirty player.

Damn. My first result was a Bulls/Kings game where the f-bomb was being thrown around right as he got ejected.

As much as I hate the guy, I have to agree with him about Cleveland. It sucks. The Mistake By The Lake. :)

Do we need to post Dwyane Wade's greatest hits of dirty play?  If there's a goon like Wade on the other team, extracurriculars are going to happen.

He's fairly likely to be first team All-NBA this year, and if he isn't, he'll be second team.  Yeah, that guy sucks.

There are pretty much two reasons the Bulls aren't in the lottery this year after trading Deng: Thibs and Noah.  Instead they're hosting a first round playoff series. Granted, it's in the wretched East, but it's still pretty surprising.

Congratulations, he's worse than Andre Drummond on 3 of 5 (double doubles, points, and rebounds). Contrary to what you might believe, those aren't especially incredible numbers--especially in light of how much they pay him. Moreover, both his assists/game and his assists/turnovers ratio are abnormally high this year in comparison to years past, and he's not an especially good shooter for a player down low (career 50%, trending downwards in recent years to 47.6% this year).

As for the trash talk, let's see. Dissed Cleveland in the playoffs in an attempt to get under LBJ's skin (he was more successful heckling LBJ from the bench that series iirc, managed a tech for LBJ). Promptly got bounced from the playoffs. Has talked all kinds of trash about the Heat. Bounced from the playoffs twice (arguably had a shot the first time around with a healthy Rose).  Calls KG a dirty player (but only "When we lose"). Owns an 8-13 regular season record against KG's teams. Not to mention the very things he's accused KG of through the years, including throwing elbows, are the very things Noah does repeatedly. In many ways KG is the recent archetype for Noah's style of play albeit with Noah being more of a hothead.

Not even sure how this is a valid comparison aside from the fact that they play the same position on the court.  The Chicago offense runs through Noah for the most part when Rose is out, which is why he has posted a career low in FG% this season.  He's forced to take shots that he didn't have to when he had Deng and Rose in the lineup.  On the other hand, NO ONE in the starting 5 of Detroit will pass to Drummond, so his single job is to collect offensive rebounds and putbacks.  And there's plenty of offensive rebounds to go around when farking Jennings, Monroe, and Josh Smith are gunning in your lineup.

The one game that I really got to watch Drummond play this season was against the Bobcats.  He repeatedly got abused on the defensive end of the court by Al Jefferson (then again, who doesn't outside of Marc Gasol?) but managed to do some work on the offensive glass unless Biyombo was in the game.  In other words, as freakishly athletic as Drummond is, he struggles against similarly athletic people (Biyombo) and any big with a series of good post movies (Jefferson).

Doogled: Not even sure how this is a valid comparison aside from the fact that they play the same position on the court.

He posted those numbers sans context as though they were impressive or important. I compared them to Drummond's because Drummond has better numbers sans context (within context I'm torn on the two as Drummond is younger, cheaper, and could be better long term but Noah has proven quality on both ends). Also, while the offense may run through Noah, his numbers have stayed roughly flat over the last four years aside from assists (which are way out of line this year in both /game and /36 measures) and shot attempts (which have increased this year in both measures relative to the previous 3). The stats, especially /36, seem to suggest that he hasn't really stepped his game up all that much in Rose's absence (they actually show him being more or less flat from the time he entered the league until now at roughly 10-13/10-13 with some improvement in assists and fouls). Of course, the various tabulated stats don't account much for defense where Noah is definitely a plus. Overall he's a wash offensively who's having an above average year on that end of the floor but makes up for it by playing very good defense. He's in the same kind of territory as Hibbert (although advanced stats guys prefer Hibbert).

/Imagine if the Kings traded Rudy Gay to the Pistons
//Imagine the potential rebounds for Drummond if they added another ball-dominant master brickmason
///Because that's just what you want to add to the mix in Detroit
