I got to see Samson when it was at the Oregon Museum of Science & Industry.  Pretty neat.

It's not every day you get to see a 6,000 year old artifact. Neat!

It is amazing how big those creatures were.  I just saw Lucy a few weeks ago at the Chicago Natural History Museum.

It was kinda weird that my 5yo son couldnt give two rips about the Trex but raved over the fossils in the evolution exhibit and the pinned bugs in the basement.  Lets go see the Trex.... MEH, can we go back and look at the bugs.

I'm confused, and I've been confused about this- I was just there last week and I swear they had a t.rex?

They have a replica on display. It's not an actual t. rex.

Ah, that's what I was kind of thinking, but a lot of their dinosaurs on display are cats made of actual fossils, so I wasn't sure if or how the new one would be different

Just skip to 13:00 to get to the bones and bypass all the speeches and back patting.

When I saw the T-Rex "Samson," the skeleton was mostly real bones, but the skull was a cast.  The actual head was on a display by itself.  I guess it's so heavy, there's really no way to safely support it, without a massive, distracting super-structure bulit around it.  I honestly couldn't tell the different between the two.

The only thing that sucks is they are renovating the whole exhibit and it will be closed in 2 weeks until 2019 :(

I still remember the last time they did it way back when I was a kid.
