(10 News)   Jose Montaño, a 12-year-old who was known for delivering toys to sick children and snacks to their parents while fighting his own battle with cancer has passed away. Wow, it's really dusty in here right now   (10news.com) divider line 34

He sounds like a great, caring human being. It is to the detriment of the world that he is no longer around. His family should be very proud of him.

Damn.

Last year, 10News was at Berry Elementary School when Jose arrived for a surprise 11th birthday party. Through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, he asked to have a new playground built for students at his school.

RIP, little man. The world is a little darker without you in it.

He left the world a better place than when he got here.  That is what we are asked to do.

Even if he wasn't a little saint, helping others is a good way to forget ones own pain.

Thanks for being such a brave, thoughtful young man, Jose. You set a high bar for the rest of us.

I know that's true, I mean hell building something for his school as his wish proves this. However I cant help but think that the potential good that this kid could have done would of been nothing short of amazing.

That's what you get for putting your faith in doctors instead of trusting the Lord to heal you. You get dead. The medical industry rarely cures people, it only treats them and keeps them comin' back like any drug dealer would. Pharmaceutical pill pushers won't be happy until we all have some mild form of cancer they can keep on treatin' til we're all tapped out of money. Jesus would have healed this child for free if he'd had faith.

Well fark.

Thank you for what you did in your short life little man.  The world is a little worse off now that you're gone, but it's much better off for having had you here.

You're almost as fresh and original as the asshole that comes into every thread about a car wreck and posts that we need to ban those dangerous assault vehicles. You think you are being clever, but actually, you're just a wad of shiat.

How tragic; to have your capacity for selfishness destroyed by brain cancer.

28 rounds of chemotherapy and countless hospital stays and surgeries

I'm pretty sure someone's counting.

Someday we'll spend on cancer research a tenth of what we do on defense.

This is the kind of things that should remind us that for every horrible thing in the world, there is still good in humanity.

We struggle, we stray out of the way and we fail, but as a whole, we keep trying to do the good thing.

Call me naive, call me romantic... I think that while the path is harsh, our potential to do great things is infinite.

RIP, little guy...

What an awesome kid. He could have met some stupid celebrity... but he built a playground for his friends. No dust here, just tears.

"We always say, you know, help others and love thy neighbor and all those things, but he was just natural. He was just born that way," said Montaño.

I beg to disagree. His parents taught and modeled that behavior, and he learned it from them. You're good parents, Sr y Sra Montaño. Unspeakably sorry for your loss.

Agreed.

May all the memories be sweet ones and don't dwell over what might have been. It was enough to have him for the time you did.

How come dead children always leave so much dust in the room? Never invite dying kids to places near you if you don't want to have a dirty environment.

/Cries like he means it in bizarro world.

Godspeed, little guy, and all the best of wishes to your family and friends. :-(
