They could tell it was a desperate call by how hard the buttons were pressed.

2014-04-14 01:10:23 PM
Definitely a desperate call.  No one else could have turned on a cell phone at that moment unless in distress.

However, given their track record they will use this one clue to extrapolate a trajectory and then extrapolate from that motive and from that can extrapolate an entire season of a new hit series on ABC this Fall about a missing plane.

2014-04-14 01:28:42 PM
Desperate call also means, a handshake between his phone and a cell tower.

2014-04-14 01:42:37 PM
Ok, I'm calling it.

The plane will never be found. We will never know why it crashed.

Can we now go back to Benghazi or something not reported on as much?

2014-04-14 01:44:00 PM
Of course the Malaysian Government said that story is a lie and no cell phone call was made. But they've been lying and withholding information since the start, so I don't believe a word they say.

Subby: "Co-pilot of ill fated Malaysian plane made a "desperate call" before plane went missing claims one single newspaper, providing zero evidence whatsoever, before the rest of the media parrots the story as 'fact'"

Now with truthiness.

Passengers took a "desperate shiat" before plane went missing.

2014-04-14 02:18:10 PM
I feel that in a few months the Malaysian authorities will announce that the flight crew were at a bar in the airport the entire time, that the plane landed at the airport safe and sound, and the passengers have been in Cinnabon comas the entire time.  The information would been declared "sensitive" and not relevant to the search for the plane in the ocean, since it was clearly on land.

/Not really
//But at this point any new information is a PR disaster

No, it will be CNNs first scripted weekly drama. It will called "Breaking News, Flight 370"

Or missing pretty white girl.

I suppose saying "white" in that sentence was superfluous. I mean: CNN. American media at large, really. Anyway.

How many people could we have fed on the budget of searching for the dead?

Amened.  Wag the dog, and all that stuff.

We have met the enemy, and we elect them to "represent" us, and to deliver the "news".

They are not us.

But all he said was "ping".

2014-04-14 02:37:11 PM
I am calling hogwash.

We do not have a bit of concrete evidence where the plane is, why it crashed or anything else.

Everything to date is pure speculation, nothing more.

Facts indicate he was using his iPhone to check the IMDB database. He was totally sure that Littlefinger from GOT was also in The Wire.

That can't be true. I've repeatedly heard that they're "closing in" on the plane.

Should be any minute now. Stay tuned, but more importantly...stay panicked.

2014-04-14 02:43:35 PM
"On why the call was cut off, it was likely because the aircraft was fast moving away from the tower and had not come under the coverage of the next one,"

Or his carrier was AT&T.

2014-04-14 02:44:09 PM
Wow.  Another story that is being reported as fact with no evidence to back it up whatsoever.

I wish they sould just find the damn plane already so the media can stop reporting every single shred of speculation - just because THEY want to be the first to have reported the "smoking gun", as it were.

After the third engine failed, they thought they'd only be a few hours late.

Then that fourth engine failed.

So it's taken longer than expected, but the plane will be arriving soon.

But the truth to Benghazi was on the plane and that is why Obama made it disappear.
