Diogenes: Unlike many other Hollywood relationships since the dawn of the talkies.

Gee, you don't think all these off-screen shenanigans are...totally fabricated, do you?

To drum up interest in their films?...

...?

Cuz that would be totally dishonest and manipulative, and Hollywood wouldn't do that!!!

I knew that relationship was fake from the beginning. I mean seriously, how many other relationships begin just as a movie series begins and dies just as it's ending?

CSB:
I work with a guy who left the Midwest to try his hand at the Hollywood thing.  He was in a couple low-budget things, culminating in a shoestring passion-project of a big-at-the-time television/movie celebrity.  They dated* when the project started, and then she immediately threw him to the curb upon completion.  From what I can tell he was very emotionally wounded when the cruelty of the Tinseltown machine bared its indifferent fangs on him.  He's basically an administrative assistant back here now and ties to not talk about that time in his life.

And the starlet was EVERYWHERE for a while, dipped in popularity, and is still floating around, so he's constantly reminded of her face.

*Yes, real dating and fornication--friends who visited out there witnessed the making out, etc.  Starlets have to hook up with somebody, and he was surprised he was a stepping stone lay.

Say what you want--the point is the artificiality of Hollywood shouldn't surprise anyone.  I owe it to the guy to be vague, since he wants to be a normal, boring, guy now.

In terms of emotional chemistry, those two are anticatalysts.

Nobody knows who this guy is, and honestly, nobody cares. We just want to put a face to the story. You described a chick who was mugato hot, then not so much but is still around. Penelope Cruz?

My Twilight CSB:

I have a tradition of taking my kids and two friends to dinner and a movie for their birthday. A couple years ago my daughter wanted to see Twilight (I don't remember which one). I am a good sport so I took her and a couple friends. In this movie there was a scene where the vampires, werewolves and some other third faction (I think they were like the jedi council equivalent of vampires, I don't remember much) were in this fierce battle. They were ripping heads off and kicking some ass and a good number of what seemed like main characters died. I started thinking "OK, this is great! Gotta respect a movie that will kill off main characters!".

Turns out it was all a vision of what  wouldhappen if they fought and one freak was showing this vision to the other freak so they would back down. Once it was revealed to be just a vision this guy behind us, must have been 30 years old, loudly exclaims, "Thank GOD! That was some BULLshiat!"

I look back and this guy was  pissedYou would have thought he was watching the murder of his children. It was hilarious to me at the time.

Can't be, Penelope only farked people who could further her career.

I read Frank Langella's autobiography Dropped Names last year and it seems like that's the norm.  He and his co-starts would sleep with each other and then move on to the next film project.

Though, I wouldn't be surprised if the Stewart/Pattinson relationship would have ended earlier but they stayed together because of public relations pressure.

Yep. Her best role to date was the relative cameo for Into the Wild because her character in the film was, like, actually her.
