Breaking Bad took a cast of characters and made an atomic bomb.
Mad Men took a cast and made a sausage.

I'm slightly sad there is no Talking Mad.

Oh Roger you degenerate!

I guarantee the back half of the season will have it.

Hosted by Chris Hardwick, obviously.

Dressed like that, I was thinking more of a chartered accountant. Of the Month Python variety.

Of course. You don't think they could air sixteen episodes in a single year, do you?

By this point in the show, Walking Dead would probably be on its third commercial break.

So how much time has transpired from the previous season?

Anyone have a clue?

Only one ping of the gaydar is required to know Don's wife's friend is strictly platonic.

Is Halt and Catch Fire supposed to be another Pirates of Silicon Valley?  Or is it supposed to be an original story that just happens to look exactly like early Apple, but changed enough to avoid lawsuits?

It's the sweater around the neck that raises the douche level for me. Then I saw the pants. Man, this is going to be an interesting season for wardrobe.

Must be the story of Compaq Computers, which was founded in Houston.

I'm not too familiar with their history, but I do think Lee Pace would make a spot-on Steve Jobs if they ever do follow up for Pirates.

That's what I am thinking. Between them and Bill Gates managing to keep PC-DOS from being IBM exclusive in the contract, IBM really got screwed out of the platform they built.

/Plus the show has the Piemaker, so I'm in for at least the premiere.

Dammit, is Don going to bang all the TV starlets of the late 90s I lusted over? First the Freaks and Geeks girl, now the Party of Five hottie.

Sorry Joan, but you are wrong about the doe industry. The world is on the edge of the great platform shoe explosion, so it is time to go long on heels with goldfish in them.

Evidently, not.

What job does Don have to go to? Is he running a bordello now?

I think NIKE was founded in 1970.

Eh it was kind of a dull episode, even by the lowered standards of last season. And Don's replacement is a scene killing schlub. The whole point of this show are the sexy pitches--Peggy spends 20 minutes arguing about a shiatty watch?

And I'm sorry, but while she's got a nice rack. Old Buck Teeth doesn't do it for me, so that's another 10 or 15 minutes down the drain.

Good Ken depth perception joke though. And you can never go wrong with Vanilla Fudge.

Definitely looking forward to Orphan Black Season 2 on Saturday.

Too much reliance on music to set the scene. and I love the spencer davis group. what happened to you, steve winwood? what happened, man? it's almost as embarrassing as rod stewart

/wants megan to run her sweater puppies over his naked torso as well

Yeah, its gotten into no1curr territory lately, as this thread kind showed. There just isn't that much to discuss.

There's "I'm not giving out any spoilers for the coming season", and there's "I'm just going to drop the viewer in the middle of the show with no reference or precurson."

I spent more time trying to figure out what the fark happened instead of the story.

better the second time although they couldn't top the opening monologue

what's wrong with your balcony door, don? do they really know where the fires start?

I have a strange feeling that Megan Draper will be killed in a Sharon Tate-esque manner.  Her small roles in television, modeling in magazines, and the house in the canyon seem too coincidental.

It's a money grab by the networks: by calling it all one season, they don't have to pay out the raises that would come in the second season.  Vince Gilligan put it best, that it was a dick move on AMC's part but he either had to go along with it or they canceled his show.

Which says a lot about AMC's ego at this point.

They knew neither Gilligan nor Weiner was going to let their show go without a proper ending, so they had the creators over a barrel.

It's probably the last time you'll see it happen as the moment AMC screwed over the producers of Breaking Bad, every agent added that to their list of demands come contract time.
