That said with your login is especially hilarious.

mark12A: Couple minutes ago, he discussed the number of molecules in your lungs having been in other creatures. Dull. He *should* have said "at this very moment, air molecules that were once in the lungs of Ben Franklin, Geghis Khan, (pick anybody) are right now IN YOUR LUNGS!"

Ugh, no, that is boring.

did you really need to share that?

Did I hurt your feelings?

Yep, you trolllin. Boring.

I'm not trolling. I've seen these threads every week but have abstained since I hadn't seen the show. Figured I'd watch it tonight and share my opinion in a thread I thought was about discussing the show. But apparently on fark, if you're not giving NDT a rusty trombone, you're just a troll. Sorry I crashed your circle jerk.

was trying to ignore you, but it looks like you are unignorable.  Wonder what you're like in person, abhorrent1.  Oh, probably have the answer right there.

Nah, you're trolling. If you really thought this you'd say why instead of getting fake-defensive.

Teaching science, if you do it right, requires no such moments. It's one continuous oh wow.

Indeed. They are seriously some of the most amazing and beautiful things built on the planet. I take it you saw the NOVA special on them? It's great.

It takes a spike to the head to get their attention.

Actually, you're supposed to give him a Cleveland Steamer.

I do hope you stick around, though; don't judge it on a single episode. You may find Neil boring, but try to get into the subject matter--it really is mind-blowing stuff. And I say that as a person who has worked professionally as a scientist for the last 26 years.

Agree 100%. Why limit the imagination by naming names? What if I wanted to think of someone else? That's what imagination IS. It's not being led around by the nose and then smacking you in the face with obviousness.

Say why what? That doesn't even make sense. I said the show seems boring and have always found NDT boring. What else would you like me to explain?

Cool supernova. Except for the sound.

Oh, well. Nobody's perfect.

2014-04-13 09:47:30 PM
Dr. Tyson should explain that supernova explosions are so loud because no air is present to interfere with the transmission of sound.

More likely a kiddie pool in front of a green screen.

Kinetic versus potential energy. Y'all just learned a major lesson in being a fighter pilot

Seth IS a Executive Producer on the show...

2014-04-13 09:50:26 PM
He didn't explain why the pendulum never achieves the same position at the end of the swing each time, which would be an important aspect to mention when discussing conservation of energy.

from the look of it, he was in the actual detector. Also they were likely draining the water. Normally that chamber is filled with water and you'd need a scuba tank to get around.
