(Entertainment Weekly)   SyFy hopes their adaptation of The Expanse will strike gold and become "Game of Thrones" in space. But given it's SyFy, it will most likely wind up being like Matlock   (insidetv.ew.com) divider line 7

theflatline: AKA Joker: Given how quickly Helix went from interesting to utter garbage I have little hope.  Does not matter how good the source material is.  It mostly comes down to casting and direction, neither of which are SyFy's strengths.  They are good at branding but whomever is in charge there is OBSESSED with reality TV and cheap campy movies (which have missed WAY more than they hit).  Chances of the creating Game of Thrones in space is nearly zero.

Helix was like they took all the popular sci fi tropes and through them at the wall to see if they would stick.

That's ridiculous.  Sharks only have the range of a passenger jet at cruising altitude.  No way could they make it all the way up to space.

Just in time to go up against a Disney cash infused Star Wars universe.  Good luck!
