The Macy's near here has an Apple vending machine (has had it for years).  You can buy and iPad. iPod, iPhone and/or accessories, straight from a vending machine.

I want a vending machine that dispenses several smaller vending machines. Come on, Japan. Up your game.

Sadly, panty vending machines are extremely rare. It was all an exaggeration of the truth, like Jesus and a democratically elected congress.

I've seen those in most of the big airports. Seatac, Sky Harbor, Houston, Denver, etc

Japan was a port visit when I was in the Navy, in 1990.  Japanese society had recently discovered coffee (meaning within the previous 5 years) and went nuts with it.  Anyway, while waiting for a bus to take our tour group to Nagasaki, my buddy and I decided to take our chances with a coffee vending machine.  Mind you, this was not like US coffee vending machines, but rather a machine with metal cans in the display area much like a soft drink machine.  Naturally, neither of us understood Japanese, so we based our selections on the colors represented on the cans.  I plunked my Yen, hit the button (rattle, rattle, boom) and removed my selection from the vending area.

Him: "Well....?"
Me: "Dude, it's really warm!"  Big silly grin on my face.

The early morning weather in Japan, in June, is akin to a crisp fall in the States.  The can of coffee was not so hot as to burn one's hands, but warm enough to feel good on a morning like that.

And the coffee was fantastic.

Vending machines are catching on in the US. Look at Redbox. Can't wait until they replace waitresses and fast food clerks.

Scotch flavour condoms - some random dive-bar, Glasgow.

No, seriously - right beside the slot for minty-breath spray.

You taste like mint, she tastes like scotch. win/win

I actually have one of those. My friend who was stationed in Japan while in the Navy got me one after I bothered him enough.

I was just in the big 4 story porn shop near the train station in Akihabara and they have a used panty vending machine. I had visceral reaction of disgust.

Sushi vending machine? How about no...

Sushi must be fresh! Unless there's a dwarf sushi chef inside the machine, in which case, that's fine :p

Oh. My. God.  I miss M Coffee (the orange and brown one in the last Dydo machine) so much.  I drank a few cans of that a day when I lived there.  Chilled in the summer, hot in the winter.

/Sigh

I spent a good deal of time in Japan in the mid-90s while in the navy, and the vending machines were really a treat. American vending machines are all about the soda (although that is improving somewhat). The Japanese machines were filled with juice drinks (never found any other type of vending machine that I remember). Delicious, yummy, juice drinks.
