If it's a Catholic thing, well ... Catholics are all about the rules. Catholics who don't follow the rules are called Episcopalian.

My friend was married in a Catholic Church. The priest was very conservative and resistant to his/his fiancee's music requests. That was, until they raised the honorarium. Another $100 and Father O'  Flipflop might have OK'd some Scandinavian black metal.

Yeah, a spontaneous expression of joy following an amazing bit of music on a loved one's wedding day...what a disaster.

They did a great job of rewriting it. What a cool surprise for what looks like a long ceremony. Anytime I get invited to a catholic wedding and I see chairs on the altar I try and escape before anybody knows I have been there....
