I know some people think that it's staged but there was a restaurant around here that got a makeover. Barefoot Bob's in Hull. At one point a guy gets mad and says, "We're not a gourmet restaurant. We feed people and get them drunk."

And that is exactly the mentality servers in Hull have. Instead of a beach resort town, it's become a beach bum town. And it's sad because it's such an awesome place.

I do wish they'd rake the beach and get rid of some of the rocks.

Ah yes, that old excuse. Does anyone still buy that?

fusillade762: specifically regarding their vile comments on Facebook (which they claim were hacked.)

So last year they didn't post the replies on Facebook because they were hacked but this time they did write the replies. Riiiiiiiight.

And since their Facebook account was hacked, how did they regain control of their account? If your account gets hacked you have to go through multiple steps to verify your identity including sending in a photo of yourself to Facebook for them to release the account back to you. I'm sure they did all that and can explain the steps in detail if anyone asks.

They learned something.  Sadly, they learned the wrong thing.  They learned that they need to stand up for themselves against assult, not realizing that business is not supposed to be a freaking war zone.

Be good to your customers.  That is what they SHOULD have learned.

I haven't followed the story very closely last year or now.  But has anyone thought it's a calculated effort for publicity?  That's the way it came over to me last year.

I mean, if everything was so friggin' bad, wouldn't logic say they should be out of business by now?

How can you not love these people?  Do you not realize how rare it is to find someone who makes Gordon Ramsay look calm, cool, sane, and polite when compared to them?

Also, "unics"???  Is this Amy not being able to spell?  TMZ not being able to spell?  TMZ feebly attempting to somehow make fun of Amy's pronunciation of "eunuch"?

/thanks, Amy, for making the rest of us crazy cat ladies look sane!

She looks like the Moment Killer Personified.

Whatever you did wouldn't be right, whatever happened wouldn't be what she wanted, and if she didn't achieve elevated-to-the-ninth-heaven ecstasy at the 12-minute mark, it would have been entirely your fault.

And she probably just lies there like a dead salmon anyway.

They did learn something about business. They're now selling merchandise that capitalizes on their batshiat craziness.

They learned something about business; however, it appears they still haven't learned anything about running a restaurant.

I think the fark consensus is that it's a front company for something, so it doesn't matter if its actually successful as a restaurant. In fact, losses might serve that purpose well because you can write off the red parts...

My guess is another mobster in witness protection in Arizona who is up to criminal shenanigans again......another version of Sammy "The Bull" Gravano.

So about the first 40 minutes of this episode was a rehash of the last episode, which was filmed in December 2012.  And the new footage?  That was from a 5 minute "interview" a Kitchen Nightmares crew did last August.

It's the store bought, prepossessed, room temperature ravioli of reality TV.

Ha. Not that kind of secret. Apparently the samy guy actually brags about being a mobster according to dustman81's link <facepalm>. I just thought I was being clever, but i'm disturbed how close the hammer came to that nail..

A sample of the comedy gold on Yelp:

I think Amy is on Meth, maybe the old man is her pimp?sort of makes sense now?
Food was average...won't go back now they will probably stab me after this.

Amy Biggest coont Baking & biatching Co.

Rude, bad food....rude.  p.s. Amy looks like a horse.

Yelp took my review off.....losers.... good thing I copied it and I can paste it again lol, now as I was saying before  psycho chef in her wannabe gangster husband looking like her father freaked me out what's wrong with them? Your food sucks how in the world do you have fabulous desserts but can't make a simple pizza? Oh I know you don't make your dessert you buy them from Costco in you sell them as your own , and then to put that stupid meow I'm a top of your cakes what are you 4? Who meows like a cat to their customers that's just creepy!!!! Keep up the good work lmao, suckers!!!!

The much, much bigger problem than the food were customer complaints turning into Jerry Springer.  And they seem to be getting some business purely from people who want to see/instigate that.  Like Monty Python purchasing arguments and verbal abuse.

Before Amy's restaurant got frame from being on Kitchen Nightmares, it actually had a following as a what I would best describe as a freak show restaurant.  My cousin lives in Scottsdale and I visited her six months before the KN episode was filmed.  Word had gotten around about how bad the food was and how crazy the owners were thanks to the Yelp flame wars.  I actually ate there and yes the Samy really is that crazy (I didn't see Amy come out that night), he cussed out three diners and threw one of them out.  Some of the issue was that the people who went would egg Samy on just to get a reaction.   Our food was actually editable (barely) but we had to waiting for over an hour to get our food and we were overcharged.  Samy was actually was pleasant about about correcting our bill although my cousin is good looking and he seemed to enjoy staring down her chest every chance he got.  I'm not sure if Samy's temper was real or an act but to be honest it couldn't have been very profitable.  The restaurant was 1/3 full on Saturday night while the restaurant next to them was packed with a waiting line outside. Amy and Samy might have been getting enough people in the door to break even, especially since they only had two servers for the entire dining room when I visited.  Plus I think a lot of people pity tipped the waitresses a large tip -  which as everyone learned on the show was actually going into Samy's pocket.    Based on long it took to get food, it was kinda dinner theater.  Sit around drinking, wait for someone to piss Samy off and watch for the WTF moments that followed.

For once, I'm with Ramsay on this one. God help them if Marco Pierre White would've got a hold of them, though. He already tore Ramsay one and made him cry. He would have torn through these two like a tornado filled with razor blades.

For as much as Ramsay steals White's 'angry chef' bit, it's easy to forget he's still a Michelin star chef (15 stars in all, which god-like in the culinary world) and a world class chef. Too bad he's buried that under scripted shows and an attitude that'd either get him fired or get his ass kicked.

Youtube his old videos training under White. Quiet as a mouse, lest he incur that legendary wrath.
