I almost want to borrow the EMF meter from work and see what the levels are in my house. Compare my cellphone to the computer to the TV to the XBox to the router to the microwave.

My boss and I have been discussing this subject this past week and he asked if I knew of any real research was going on so this was an interesting read. I am getting a Gauss meter to  check the levels at my house between the Smart Meter and all the devices we have

These people are going to totally freak out when they go outside and discover this giant ball of nuclear fusion and source of electromagnetic radiation called "the Sun."

Just use a gaussian eliminator and you don't have to worry.

Skin cancer by UV.  My favorite are the people who claim an allergy to EMR.

I know a few of those.

She's nuts.

Non-ionizing radiation is non-ionizing.

So yes, very unbelievable.

For instance, numerous studies have found that EMF damages and causes mutations in DNA

This must be some brand new meaning of the world "numerous" (to indicate "zero") with which I was previously unfamiliar.

I'll be fine, there are strategically placed mason jars of dirt and rocks in my house that negate the harmful effects of magnetic fields, dating back to when this was a "thing" in the 90s. The guy who sold them to my family also claimed they would make your car run longer without oil changes, and he talked to the dead.

Article claims the power grid is also a harmful man-bear-pig EMF generator, but it takes decades to discover the effects. And we've had the grid for over 100 years. FAIL.

We get it; we're all going to have cancerous lumps the size of cellphones on our legs. Some ladies are going to have the lump on their boobs.

This time, it's real.

They swear, honest to goodness.

That article is pure science fail.

FTSA: "For instance, numerous studies have found that EMF damages and causes mutations in DNA"

There is zero evidence for this.

"Cell phones generate electromagnetic fields (EMF), and emit electromagnetic radiation (EMR). They share this feature with all modern electronics that run on alternating current (AC) power  "

Uhhhh last time I checked cellphones ran off of batteries. Batteries only provide DC current, not AC.

Haven't we all been completely bathed in EMF 24/7 ever since the invention of radio?

Non-ionizing radiation doesn't do shiat unless you can actually feel the heat.

It enrages me even more. RF (and by extension EMF) was my specific thing I studied. So every time I see shiat like this I feel pure rage.

Now go learn about the dozens of other components inside a smartphone.

Especially that speaker, which is an AC device.

Yes, but what people are worried about with wireless EMF is actually that something about the nature of packet switching networks is uniquely bad. I tried to read some of the original studies once (my sister is a total believer in this) and it made very little sense to me, but what I did manage to understand seemed too theoretical and far fetched to represent reality. When people start getting brain tumors and Alzheimer in droves who were heavy cell phone users, it should be pretty damn obvious, like heavy smokers all getting cancer.

Well duh. Anything over 1000 Mhz is considered Microwave.
In North America, GSM operates on the primary mobile communication bands 850 MHz and 1,900 MHz.
Modern microwave ovens operate at the frequency 2,450 MHz.
But the cordless phone for your homes have changed from the 900 Mhz area to 2500 and 5000 Mhz (5Ghz)! (Now that has got to fry some brain cells.)

I still use the older 900 Mhz cordless phone because I don't care to stick a microwave upside my head in the first place. (But I like cordless.)
