If Tooheys Extra Dry can win a bronze, I think I should start a brewery and just enter half the categories, I think I'd rake in a few awards.

My beer making isn't great but it's a hell of a lot better than TED.

That's why Colt 45 is never invited to these competitions .

Hops belong to the family Cannabaceae, so they should be a big hit with fark, regardless of the bitterness they bring to beer.
Hops and marijuana, are cousins.

I wonder when the marijuana IPA's will be on the shelves in Colorado and Washington.

Smell and taste are intertwined. For you I suggest an extra light called Evian, or another called Dasani.

I can stand Corona or XX but that's pretty much it for me. I've done flights of beers and every time there's a particular one that I dislike the least, at best.

There's a sports bar in my area, if a guy orders a margaritas or wine cooler, the barmaid would pull a whistle and blow it "PENALTY, 15 Yards - Forfeit of Man Card for drinking a Chicks Drink, Still first down!"
She got a few laughs, but the manager shot the idea down after the first baby biatch whined about it.

Fat Head's Head Hunter IPA is fantastic. It was something I was going to miss when I left Cleveland but see them at the stores around Toledo now. I'm not sure how far away you can find them but if you do, get it.

Depends what beers you have tasted which make you believe you do not enjoy the taste of beer. Wheat beers are often solid choices, especially with a few drops of lemon or orange; try Erdinger Weissbier, Julius Echter Hefeweiss, or Weihenstephaner Hefeweiss which are all great and extremely available.

Yeah...you can only get it on tap so far in San Diego, but the guy brewing it is Callaway Ryan, formerly of Stone Brewing and Surly Brewing.  Tasted the IPA and the Brown Ale so far, and they're both INCREDIBLY good.  Supposedly they're going to can it eventually.  Can't wait.

Virginia's own Devil's Backbone gets a silver and a gold, but Oregon and Washington State appear to be out-performing.

Giving a gold to Killian's Irish Red, though... very questionable.

neeky_neeky_foxth: If one does not like the taste of Beer ( or the smell for that matter ), what's a good one to try ?

There are two basic strategies. One is to start with mild beers, like the wheat beer's  Vangor mentioned and then work your way up to stronger beers. The other way is to try some beers that don't really taste like mainstream beers. Beer has a huge variety of flavors and style so if you try enough you will inevitably find something you like. My first real craft beer was a Belgian Strong Dark Ale (Unibroue's Maudite) which you wouldn't even recognize as beer if all you're used to is Bud and Coors. So Belgian darks, Belgian Tripels, German Bocks, and English Bitters are all very different beers but aren't too intimidating for a new guy. You can go to a bar with a big selection and ask for those styles or look up those styles and see if you can buy them somewhere.

I wonder if Lagunitas Hop Stoopid was entered in any category. That is the finest hop bomb that I've ever had. 102 IBU and still ridiculously drinkable. I've only had a few of the winners, but they were all very good beers. Time to try the few locals I hadn't heard about.

They have a new one, "Waldo", that's even hoppier.  Limited batch. Awesome, but not as drinkable as Hop Stoopid.

I have a bottle of Moylan's Kiltlifter in the fridge.

Yep. At least in Texas, we've got a few spots of blue here and there. That's where the breweries are.

Try a sour or a Flanders Red. Duchesse de Bourgogne is a good gateway to that world.

Actually, making production light lager is extremely technical, and difficult to do and still be drinkable.

There were other categories in there that were for various shiesse-brau macro brew. Lowenbrau got a bronze for one.
