dittybopper: skinink: The NSA Spied on Angela Merkel, and right in Germany a few blocks from the parliament they planted spy devices on the roof of the Embassy. If they're spying on heads of state in their own countries then I'd guess there's nowhere the NSA won't go to spy on anyone.

It's their farkin' *JOB* to spy on the governments of foreign nations.

It is. And it is the job of the State Dept to refrain from activities which damage US reputation and anger our allies. The intelligence community must learn that just because you can, that doesn't mean you should.

The NSA has done more to undermine US-based information security than all other terrorist and foreign intelligence organizations combined.

The difference here is that it is illegal for the NSA to spy on domestic communications. Spying on foreign communications is their farking job, on the other hand.

The Peeping Tom is getting paid handsomely.

He is a gubmit operative. He works in a big high-security building.

His life has purpose. He is working for national security.

He is a peeping tom and if he does not deliver, then well sooner or later six positions merge into four, then four into two.

So these nameless useless assholes have to keep up the momentum, pretend to be alert to espionage and sabotage and moose-limb boogeymen. But they might as well be playing Solitaire on their computers.

(Some are, most likely.)

Talk about a mammoth boondoggle. Talk about wasted resources. Talk about home-grown peeping tom fascism.

It's why I call that republic BlimpSnitch.

The NSA monitors everything. They are hoarders. If there is something they can get, they will.

Tobin_Lam: Where's the scary part? The tag say's "SCARY" but it is rather "OBVIOUS".

That fact that it's obvious is scary.
