Youth has no innocence, except in the imagination of parents who confuse it with weakness.

2014-04-11 05:20:50 PM
On Thursday the BBC released a survey which found that over two thirds of youngsters were 14 or younger when they first viewed pornography.

As it should be. That's the only age it's actually kind of thrilling to look at the stuff.

2014-04-11 05:33:35 PM
The author says she found it at 13, which maps to the study.  The magazines were there, they just arrived at the age where they went looking.

The author has apparently hit the age where she wants to start poisoning the well for the men of her peer group.

"Don't look at that 20-something beautiful girl!  Look at me!  You should not want that, you should want me!"

Lemme know how that works out for you, sweetheart.

"If our children's first introduction to sex is online pornography we are complicit in creating a harmful addiction that enters the deepest recesses of the mind; desensitising it and raising levels of expectation and entitlement."

I'd be a lot more worried about my child's first introduction to sex being with uncle Ned, or him/her getting cornholed by the local priest. That's harmful.

2014-04-11 05:35:32 PM
Fiona Phillips thinks addiction to porn is just as serious as addiction to alcohol, drugs and smoking

That's 'cause she's a farking moron. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some interracial midget bestiality anal gangbang videos to get back to.

Not really. Priests have notoriously small dicks. Study it out.

it's women being abused in a quick, violent way. It's like a real-life porn version of addictive, gratuitously violent console games such as Grand Theft Auto, only it's real people and the violence and the humiliation of women is real.

WTF kind of porn is this biatch watching?

This. My intro to porn was the first Saturday I woke up before the parents and got to leaf through dad's playboys. Then it was my buddy showing me his dad's Penthouse and Hustler.

I saw women peeing off of a houseboat at Tahoe before I ever touched a boob. This has nothing to do with the Internet.

I like how she pointed out that she's been able to have conversations with her son about drugs and alcohol because she's found those, but not porn. So, she decided to write an article. No way her sons friends will think about her looking at porn or in a sexual way now.

2014-04-11 06:33:45 PM
I love her conceit that porn is "not about loving relationships." Not not ALL of it is. But much of it portrays pairs that are either in a  romantic or married relationship. What about women's "Romance Novels" They certainly do not show "normal" romantic relationships between men and women. I would argue that romance novels fill young minds with absurd expectations much more than porn does. Porn ends in an orgasm and EVERYBODY has those. Romance Novels end with a fantasy that can NEVER fulfilled. .

My first thought as well.

My second thought was that the article is poorly written and remarkably devoid of any data or references to studies showing how exactly teens are damaged by sneaking a peek at pron.  She just comes off as in irrational mom screaming, "won't someone please think of the children!"

Not so much "innocence of youth" as "her pelvis".

I think she'll pull through.

Apparently violent porn is popular amongst women...such as the author of tfa.

2014-04-11 07:06:12 PM
When I was 10, i found my dad's stash of porno mags under his mattress. I spent hours looking as those ugly breasts and Serengeti-grade bushes. This did not turn me into a sexual deviant with warped views of 'how sex should be'. It took many years of awkward fumbling to realise this sex lark wasn't as sanitised as I'd been led to believe

The same kind of porn all these "researchers" watch, the worst they can find.  Never mind the best selling porn films in North America and Europe typically come from studios like Vivid, Digital Playground or Dorcel and are usually targeted towards couples and the hottest thing going right now is MILF videos where the woman is predominantly the aggressive partner, she found the Spankwire fetish channel so that proves all porn is violent towards women.

There is porn for this too...

My eldest son is 14. We talk openly about the evils of over-indulgence in smoking, drugs and alcohol.

Having found all of them in his bedroom, it's easy to open the conversation.

Your 14 year old son is drinking and doing drugs and you think Porn is going to fark him up????

At least he will know what to do when the teacher propositioning him

At this point online porn has ruined me so much, the only way I can keep interested in reading Fark is if I have a browser window open next to it, and it's streaming porn clips from RedTube.

You, nail, head, jib, etc.

I read romances (eh, they're popcorn), and I still think they're as bad or worse than porn for providing poor life examples. In fact, they basically are porn, and neither should be viewed as having any relationship with reality nor promoting healthy relationships (I could make arguments in favor of romances or porn providing SOME ideas for healthy relationships, but not on the whole [pun not intended]).

I'm not an anti-porn crusader (live and let fap), but I can imagine there being some emotional damage to teenagers who view hardcore porn at too young an age.  I wish people would address that issue scientifically instead of moralistically.

I'd be interested in that, but I can't imagine how anyone could run a study without it being completely corrupted by folks with various agendas.

So would I but that would mean people would have to accept an unbiased conclusion as opposed to one that fits their preconceived notions.  A lengthy double blind, peer reviewed study of the affects of viewing porn at a young age could show that it stunts sexual and emotional maturity and understanding, but it could also show it has little to no affect.  Keep in mind there would have to be a control group, and the last thing the moralists would ever want to admit is that teenagers are fully capable of getting freaky with no prompting from tv or the internet.  Hell I did all kinds of fun things with my girlfriends in high school and the most hardcore stuff I had access to was the occasional episode of Bleu Nuit.

Then it was my buddy showing me his dad's Penthouse and Hustler.I saw women peeing off of a houseboat at Tahoe before I ever touched a boob. This has nothing to do with the Internet.

For my dad's 40th birthday surprise party, a neighbor gave him a joke gift of about 15 magazines: the standards like Playboy and Penthouse, the cruder Hustler, and some random Iron Horse and Oui and Knave to round out the collection. That box of late 1970's boobs & bush was my initial foray into porn. Although it was certainly sexual in nature, and not in a "loving relationship" sort of way, no one was urinated on, or shat on, or bukkake'd, or caned until their ass bled, or roughly slapped while giving a blowjob, or any of the crazy violent stuff you can find today by doing a GIS with any group of words + the word "porn."

I'm not suggesting censorship, but let's also not pretend that flipping through an old issue of Playboy provides the same experience as going online and watching a full screen video of a BDSM interracial gang bang.

2014-04-11 07:29:35 PM
You know, there are a few sites out there where it's not violent and all that nonsense.  All natural and actually well shot and pretty sensual and the couple looks like they're really having a good time.

The other day I found a picture of my hand on a womans bottom on some amateur site. It was bizarre.  "Hey...heeeeeyy!!!  Is that?  That ass...Is that...my hand?  That's my hand! I remember that!"

I never uploaded that pic to anyone and I find it hilarious to think that that crazy woman uploaded it herself.
Then I had a sad because I realized I look at so much porn I found myself online.  Just my left hand though, baby.

/she was a stripper and I didn't even know it.
//tested, clean.  How YOU doin?

No teen should have a computer with Internet access in the privacy of their own bedroom behind closed doors. Not these days.

The Internet activity should be limited to the family room, on a screen that is visible to all.

There's just no reason any 13-year-old needs to see some of the sick shiat out there. Nudity is fine, and eventually, they're going to see people having sex... I'd just rather their introduction to it not include animals, shiat, piss, choking, vomit, abuse, toilets, drugs, handcuffs, fursuits, gangs, or lots of rope. I don't want the first guy they see having sex with a woman to be Rocco Sifreddi, or anyone like him. I don't want Two Girls One Cup to be part of their early sex education.

So the choice is to either show 11-year-olds "normal" porn (which they'll think is gross at that age, most likely) or risk them seeing something horrendous when they're 12-14 years old and being given the wrong ideas about human sexuality.

It's a conundrum, and the only solution I have is limiting access to Internet, requiring it to be done in clear view of the rest of the family. Little Eric is unlikely to look up "felching" if he's on the family Internet computer in the den.

People always do that, say "LOL prudes can't stand the idea of beautiful naked breasts!" as though pretty nudes were the same thing as some crazy shiat online. Yeah, we get it, you looked at some soft focus '70s chicks in some old magazine, fanning their giant bush with a lace fan or a macrame owl or something.
We're talking about bad web design and people with pink eye getting slapped by vomiting horses while sticking Nazi cacti up their asses.

Really bad web design, people. Glitter gifs. Excessive use of Barbie Pink. Lenflare. Comic sans.
