I don't know how that giant mongoloid is allowed in the ring.

After all this time, McMahon has finally signed the king of pain. A thousand years from now this will be seen as America's crowning achievement. On the other hand I feel like this might be the end of the game.

Per the sheets, Vince decided that Taker should lose to Bork, and then proceeded to talk him into it.

Granted, Taker would never do something that he was adamantly opposed to doing, but I can't believe that he agreed to put over a guy who is even more useless than JTG, Santino, and Kahli put together.

if it wasn't for Heyman, the Bork stuff would be completely unwatchable.  He's terrible in the ring and he can't speak worth the damn.  He has absolutely 0 redeeming qualities, yet Vince still pushes him because he lives big men so much.

ManateeGag: yet Vince still pushes him because he lives big men so much.

As VerbalToxin, clintster, and others mentioned in one of the Warrior threads, that same obsession with muscle-bound guys played a large part in driving Warrior, Hulk, Macho, Luger, Eddie, and so many others to use/abuse steroids and drugs of all kinds to get bigger.

And that played a large part in farking up all of those guys in various ways.

Unless, of course, you're Nancy Grace, in which case you can blame steroids for global warming too. :(

If there is anything that is going to get me to tune in, its watching a 54 year old who hasn't done much besides sit in rafters for 20 years. Brilliant!

Fine with Brock ending the streak. It was time and totally unpredectibl.

Yeah, dude's close to 5 years OLDER than Taker.

Maybe they will have Sting fight Lesnar so they can give Lesnar a new nickname - "The Geezer Killer"

Came to basically say both of these comments. It would have been great around the Invasion days, or right after that. I haven't really watched since Wrestlemania 22, so I don't even care about this news, but it's still surprising.

Kind of sad actually. Sting is the one dude whose career was pretty much defined as "the one who never went to the WWE."

At this point, I assume he wants to amass some sort of nest egg from a company who can actually pay him.

On the other hand, every week since January there's been an article somewhere claiming that he just signed.  He likely signed this deal weeks (if not months) ago.

One of the rumors had Vince McMahon returning to feud with HHH and Steph and naming Sting the new GM to replace Vickie.  It was supposed to be part of the buildup for Punk/HHH, but Punk threw a monkey wrench into that plan.  If so, I could see Vince setting up the Shield/Best for Business 6-man at Extreme Rules to fill that role with Sting making his debut the next night on Raw.

Reminds me, did it look to you guys like HHHs leg was farked up on Monday?  Near the end of the show the camera was on him and his left leg seemed to go out briefly and the shot quickly changed.

Subby's phrasing gives me a chuckle.  But now the $64 question: will there be continuation of this metaphor?

/Don't really curr about the signing

I hope they keep him out of the ring. Let him talk, manage, or be an ambassador but not in-ring talent.

If nothing else, maybe they can get the Blade Runners back together for a segment, since WWE finally made nice with the Ultimat---

Oh.

/Sting's "RIP Warrior" statement hinted strongly at Sting already being signed, since Sting specifically mentioned he was looking forward to catching up to Warrior, which would have been so much easier since both would be working the same show at some point in the future.

I've been watching the Network and the old school GWF that ESPN Classic has been showing.  Watching those matches makes me miss the old way of working a match.  First, they had matches that were 15 minutes long so they had time to work the crowd and create a story.  They made matches interesting and told a story rather then simply stringing moves together.

One thing you frequently hear Jim Ross biatching about is the loss of the TV time limit. His stance is that people always know the match will end with a pin, count out, or DQ, and someone has to lose. But, with the time limit, you could get two guys over as equally good and neither would have to lose if that 10 or 15 minute time limit ran out before a pinfall.

I agree.

i can't remember the exact year, 88 or 89, i went to wrestling at the asheville civic center. they was an older man sitting next to us that had brought about 4 signs. they were taping an interview with terry funk and the old man wanted me and my friends to hold up his signs. so there i was holding a orange poster board sign that said " terry funk is a punk ". well before the cameras started to roll, mr. funk comes towards me and snatches the sign from and rips it into about 5 pieces. i almost shat myself lol. i was either 17 or 18 and i still have the sign at my parents house.

so they are filming the interview with terry funk and sting comes out to attack him. they slowly fight through the crowd and make it into the ring. anywho, when wrestling came on on the next saturday, they showed the interview and you could see the ripped up sign on the ground just before sting entered.

Jeter plays a sport, this is just entertainment.  Which is why I'm wondering why this isn't on the Entertainment page.  Btw, Ric Flair is 65 and still hasn't retired, for good that is.

Ric Flair has four ex wives and a lifetime of partying to pay for. When Flair dies, he will have to be stuffed and sent around to indy shows for a hundred a shot for fans to pose for pictures with just to pay off his debts.

Sting isn't really returning as much as taking one final big payday before retiring. He's been toiling away in TNA for nearly a decade, they can't afford him anymore, so it's finally time to take Vince's big payday, make that one Wrestlemania appearance, get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, and retire.
