A dog that saved many, many lives by being a faithful companion and doing his job.  More than alot of human soldiers do.  And by the way - what have you done lately to save a life?

Eh, not really.  Too over the top.   Mentioning Hitler and abortion in the same sentence, in a thread that isn't about either, is ridiculous even by Fark standards.

My first sentence was serious, though.  The dog didn't drag a child out of a burning building.  It's just a creature that helps one side avoid getting killed while trying to kill the other side.  If the Taliban have a dog that warns them about incoming US gunships, does it get the Hero tag too?

All dogs do is what they are told to do, and they do it for pure love and the joy of doing it. The trainer/handler's motives may be evil; the dog never can be.
