Their cover of Toxic is particularly outstanding:  http://youtu.be/rMy0KPz8Vvo  That's right -- they didn't leave Britney alone.

Norwegian/Balkan?  Are any of the members actually Balkan, or does screaming like an escaped mental patient qualify them as spiritual Balkanoids?

They are all Norwegian, but some of them have interesting family backgrounds--including Balkan, German, and troll.

Apparently I"m new to the hate brigade. Not my cup of tea, but it sounded like actual music compared to the other random stuff we get around here. /Hope they find success.

I caught these guys last year as openers on the Vinland folk-metal tour with Tyr and Ensiferum among a couple others. I liked their schtick, it reminded me a bit of old Mr. Bungle likely due to the horns. I hadn't heard of them before and haven't checked them out since, but this reminds me I ought to. I went with my Belarussian colleague who was flipping his shiat because the headliners normally play stadiums in Europe and we were watching them in this tiny venue with a couple hundred people. Trollfest was hanging around the venue after their set drinking and taking photos with people and seemed like really cool guys, though the singer was noticeably short for a viking.

You've got Klezmer in my Metal. Or you've got Balkan Brass in Heavy Boingo. (For the record, EVERYTHING would be better with Balkan Brass added.)
Regardless, it's good. The wife did not even run away.

/For fans of heavy Klezmer, btw, I recommend the Bester Quartet/Cracow Klezmer Quartet. Absolutely intense.

CrazyCurt: I like it.

Not surprisingly, there is a lot of fan overlap between Finntroll and Trollfest...

(I saw the Ensiferum/Tyr/Trollfest show in California - great bands, great show)
