Still nope: Three deputies fired their guns, hitting both Winkler and the stabbing victim.

That's some farcical police where there, Lou.

I guess that fits the bill of shoot first ask question later. Or to put it another way, no good deed goes unpunished.

I didn't say that they didn't hit something ALONG with what they were aiming at, but they usually hit everything else and don't even scratch their target with a piece of chipped concrete...

Deputies used force to subdue McDonald and arrested him

That's some nice police work there, you useless fark sticks.

Is this the same LAPD that murdered civilians in cold blood when they were hunting for Christopher Dorner?  This guy got off easy.

This is America we're talking about here.  Virtually all the cops are ex-military, so they just revert to their old training when the adrenaline kicks in.

I recommend staying as far away from them as possible.

Article i read said that they were going to breach the door and then the door burst open and someone came out bleeding from the head and neck followed by a guy running after him and they thought it was the attacker.

How many times does the internet need to tell people what is going on.
Cops are not your friends, stay away from them, they will kill you because they enjoy killing innocent people, and enjoy killing slightly guilty people even more.   Then they get away with it every time unless there is a camera and they say something stupid with the camera there.

So the suspect with the knife is being booked on murder because the cops shot the wrong person?

War on Drugs and Post 9/11. Better that the police kill you than a terrorist does.

I know it's popular to hate on the cops, and there are plenty of instances where they're in the wrong, but this isn't one of them.  We're talking a split second decision where if you choose not to act, you could end up with a knife in the face.

L.A. County Sheriff's, not LAPD. Same type of a**holes, completely different entity. Ask anyone who's ever spent any time in County lockup, the f*cking Sheriff's are a much worse breed of f*ckhole than the LAPD.

My mistake.  Also very nice to know there's a conveniently available law enforcement branch  more repugnant than the LAPD.

Ya know...this guy was having a bad day...he'd been stabbed. That's a pretty bad day, right? Well then the cops showed up and SHOT the poor bastard. I mean, shooting the perp, that I get...even shooting the good samaratin...but shooting a guy that's already been stabbed, well that just don't seem right.

AceThunder: So the suspect with the knife is being booked on murder because the cops shot the wrong person?

That's the way the law works. There was a case where a cop was racing to some crime scene, lost control of his car, and killed someone. The perp at the crime scene was charged with murder.

I thought killing people was against the law?  Somebody should do something about these pigs , they don't fly straight.

I'll need to see the video first.  But I've seen enough bad behavior by the police to never give them the benefit of the doubt.  Remember the homeless guy in Albuquerque that they machine gunned in the back last month?  Or how about this gem by the LAPD:

In some surveys LASO ranks right behind New Orleans PD for abuse cases, impressive considering the size of N.O. compared to all of L.A. County, & why Sheriff Baca & his Gang are on the way out, or back in, depending on the election...  http://www.laobserved.com/archive/2014/02/new_sheriff_converts_tana.p h p

I couldn't disagree with you more. Public safety should come before officer safety. That's the job they signed up for. The standard should be the occasional knife in the face or dead officer is an acceptable price for not killing innocent citizens.
