snowshovel: Remember, Republican hopefuls meeting with Sheldon Adelson is bad. But Democratic hippos meeting with Obama is awesome.

See one is only the Elected President of the United States, and the other made his billions off poor people and is willing to fark them over even more. But other than that they are completely the same.

Lord Dimwit:

And before anyone accuses me of sexism - I, a man, turned down a major career advancement because I didn't want my kids to have to move and because I certainly wasn't going to go anywhere without them. I've turned down jobs that would pay me more because I'd have to travel more and not be around my kids.

I'm not saying she's an objectively bad person, I'm saying she and I aren't on the same page about parenting.

Personally I agree as a father of three kids. I am lucky enough to work locally and only have to travel rarely. Being home every night to spend time with them and put them to bed makes me more fortunate than many people.

That being said, a person taking an opportunity to better themselves or provide for their family can't really be judged with such a wide stroke. Are military people who are deployed for months if not years bad parents? What about sailors who are at sea for long times? I just think there is a much longer list of reasons why somebody could be a bad parent than going to college (even if I wouldn't have personally).

The reason it comes across as misogynistic is because if she didn't have breasts and a vagina we wouldn't even be discussing this.

False equivalence is false equivalence.

I wasn't aware Adelson was an elected politician.  Did I miss something?  Please let me know.

When you live in an Ayn Rand-ian tinted world the rich are entitled to the same and equal powers as elected officials.

In a just world, Greg Abbott wouldn't be qualified to clean up the toilet after Wendy Davis emptied her bowels in it. Sadly, we do not live in a just world, and he will probably be the next Governor of Texas.
