Not surprising at all.  I was all for moving him, jus thought we might get a little more than Weeks for him.

There is no Rage in Oakland.

The A's really should have just one loss this year. Johnson is responsible for 2 of our losses and King Felix is responsible for the other. Luckily our bullpen is stacked. Go A's!

Johnson pulled out, seeking relief. Manager cites dead arm, suggests improving stamina.

/ribbed, for her pleasure

The performance of Johnson is piss poor. The Big Johnson band wagon has shrinkage.
Now I see why he couldn't satisfy the O's.

I would've been happy trading him for just 5 blown saves in return.

To be fair, althought he started blowing saves in the middle of the year last year, he wasn't THIS bad.

As a mariners fan I think your problem begins and ends with Melvin.

...aw.

For what it's worth, I dropped him pretty quick after that.

Yeah, you guys have a good one in McClendon. We're pretty happy with Melvin, too. Good luck this weekend, I hope you lose! :)

No. No. Nope. Nope. Nope.

Melvin is a good manager for this club. He knows how to maximize team strengths and he keeps everyone on the 25-man roster active and involved and in the game. Maybe he was a poor fit in Seattle but he's just fine here. And, like was said above, you cannot have him back.

As an O's fan I was kinda pissed to see Johnson traded - especially considering what we got in return. Jim had been part of the Orioles organization for quite a while and he indicated that he really wanted to stay. However, hindsight being 20/20, I think Baltimore did the right thing. I predict a shiatty season for Jim and can only hope we crush Oakland at home in June.

Johnson gets yanked from failing to close the deal.

Dickey gets taken deep, but Houston just about chokes on it, before finishing the job by getting a weak one up the middle.

I hope he does well in Oakland.  Just not against the Orioles.
