spinach gunk: Mrs CDK: spinach gunk: [img.Butter Side Up]Hahaha. Thanks SG! How is Buddy doing?[i384.photobucket.com image 640x480]/Butter Bunny Foo Foo says Happy Easter.Happee Easter Butter Bunny! :) Give that tummy a rub for me.Buddy's not feeling all that great today, but he's hanging in there, thanks for asking. He's fast asleep beside me wrapped up in the fuzzy blue Doctor Who blanket. I went out for a few hours this afternoon and now he won't leave my side. He's such a dear little snuggle bug these days. Feeling sick is tiring! But easier when Mommy & Daddy are there to give pats and cuddles. And when there's lots of Caturday to pass the time.I sure wish there were some doggie equivalent of crackers & ginger ale to settle his tummy a bit. Maybe we'll try some fresh cool water and a milk-bone or some steamed veggies later. He says to say hi and thanks and he will send along kisses as soon as he's feeling better. I send hugs too -- sounds like you've been through a rather rough time lately. Here is a recently found pic (going through a long-lost box of photos right now myself!) of little boy Buddy on The Couch of Utter Hideousness -- probably some time in 2002 at about a year old.[img.fark.net image 677x437]

ProcrastinationStation: SeikaArashi:If I may be so bold.... I suggest having mallow checked for hyperthyroid. Common in older cats, and he sounds a lot like my Buster who was recently diagnosed and has been prescribed meds to control..And, credit where credit is due....Sherpa18 offered all kinds of info and help a couple weeks ago when I needed info on hyperthyroid....
SeikaArashi: [img.fark.net image 400x533]The one staring at me is Mallow. :D He's been my baby since we got him when I was 10. He's unfortunately not looking so well... no matter what we feed him, he always acts like he's starving (even though he has food constantly) and he is so skinny and has had a couple of strokes. The last one messed up his back legs somewhat, he has a bit of trouble walking... but not enough to keep him off the counter and trying to sleep in front of the microwave. :P We won't be surprised if he passes away during the night when we're sleeping... but we're definitely trying to spoil him (or at least me, dad doesn't think we should LOL).The one in the back is Mew, she's so tiny but she's roughly 13 years old. She's also the resident bossy one. She hates dogs (though dogs will ignore her haha) and she used to be able to stand Mallow, but she's either getting senile or something because she'll tolerate Mallow being near her, then the next second she'll swap his nose and run off. She's so adorable though and loves to sleep with me during the night (used to let Mallow in my room, but unfortunately he tends to pee all over the place... @_@)[img.fark.net image 500x375]And this is Morris! We got him about three-four years ago from my brother's ex girlfriend's grandma. He was super shy when we first got him and we had to keep him in the garage while he got used to us (he did went missing for three days when he escaped the garage... someone had left the door open a crack... scared us, but he came back THANK GOD) but now he's the super spoiled baby. He won't let you pick him up (was apparently never held that much as a kitten) but he will love on you forever and ever. Even when you're trying to sleep. Here are my babies~ Hopefully I can keep popping in every Saturday. :D
Salem Witch: I have plenty of never wear pants to Caturday.FTFY!
spinach gunk: Salem Witch: I have plenty of never wear pants to Caturday.FTFY!Can't say I'm 100% innocent of that allegation.....[img.fark.net image 500x375]LOL... actually Mr, Gunk and I have a funny little act we do at home sometimes (he'll probably kill me for sharing it, so don't tell him I did!). It's kind of like when Superman puts a pair of glasses on, Lois Lane sees him as Clark Kent, but as soon as he takes them off, he's instantly recognizable as Superman! Likewise, when Mr. Gunk is wearing pants, he's just Mr. Gunk. But when he walks around without any pants on, he turns into PANTLESS MAAAAAN!!! Pantless Man in all his glory has rescued me from spiders, obtained needed items from impossibly high shelves, cleaned sinkfuls of dishes in the blink of an eye, etc. And boy can he kiss! :) When the pants find their way on, the conversation goes something like this: "Hey honey, who were you talking to in there?" "It was Pantless Man! He was here! You just missed him!" "Agaaain?"OK that's my TMI tidbit for the day....

yobbery: Give Buddy a skritch please.
Real Women Drink Akvavit: Oh, wow! He was just a babby Buddy then! He has aged well, I think. *skritches fur buddy*
The Ice Queen: So I'm still in bit of a foul mood. So my one aunt who is fighting cancer has been in a nursing home while she recovers from surgery and gets her strength built back up so she can go home. She came with a Rx for pain meds AS NEEDED! So I get a call that she's fallen. Ok that's not good. Come to find out, the staff at the nursing home were giving her 2 pills (and they're the strong C2 stuff) every 4 hours because hey, if they're stoned out of their mind, they're not in pain and not bothering anyone. Of course, never bothered to keep an eye on her or implement fall protocols. It was her family MD who found her on the floor, not the staff, and when MD said to call EMS, the nurse told her to wait because she was finishing something up.So we get her to hospital and she's scanned head to toe. No brain bleeds (thank God) but they feel there was a period of time where she wasn't getting much O2 and suffered some brain damage, mostly memory. Her pelvis is broken in 2 places, she has fractures involving 2 lumbar vertebrae, and her hip is broken in 2 places around her replacement (she had her hips replaced about 10-12 years ago). Oh, she's also in her mid-80s and has 1 functioning kidney so guess who can't get surgery to fix everything because she would die on the table.Yeah, I seriously want some heads on a platter. You'll come bail me out right?????
Diocletian's Last Cabbage: This pic made me think of Lilyspad's problems at TV with the wind and the trees and the tomatoes and the etc..[img.fark.net image 383x640]

ProcrastinationStation: SeikaArashi:Omg! Thank you for that suggestion! I looked it up really quick and he's got basically most of the symptoms for it. Especially the unkempt hair... he has NOT been keeping up on his fur and I've been trying to keep him clean but sometimes that doesn't even help. :(Unfortunately I'm dead broke and my dad, for some reason, has this weird thing about taking animals to the vet... He grew up with the mentality that animals will pass away when they do and will only take the animals to the vets when there's something drastically wrong with them... Plus he keeps saying if we take him to the vet that he'll probably suggest to put him down so... Yeah. :(The bloodwork wasn't cheap.... total for the vet (at home visit) and bloodwork came to $250. Meds are $35/mo... which I may be able to get discounted, but for this first go-round, I didn't try....So yeah, not cheap, but perhaps you can set aside a couple bucks and build up to it?

ProcrastinationStation: Just back from high tea at Hotel Viking in Newport (dat's right, I iz a society gal! pretty dress and big hat and all that jazz -snarf). My pals I and managed to finagle extra champagne from the staff! Most bestest since it was free (sponsored by our breast cancer survivors support group... we're the trouble makers)...Such a wonderful afternoon... got home to the mail and the discovery that the retailer of my lymphedema compression sleeve is playing games with insurance and charging me WAY MORE than my insurance told me I'd pay. LIVID. And can't do a damned thing about it till Monday when I call insurance and say "hey, remember I told you I thought I was gonna get dicked around? Yeah, I am... please handle posthaste".GAH.Bring on de wine and de kitties!
