Latest about Spouse's broken arm: It turns out to be a "comminuted fracture", (i.e. broken into several pieces), mid-shaft Humerus. Her arm is being held together with a fibreglass splint, several elastic bandages, and a large "swathe strap" holding her arm close in to her body. No cast, as such. She does comment about feeling it 'click' if she moves her arm too much, but otherwise is in good shape. All things considered.

(/brag on)
I knew she would need help getting around for the short term, until her arm was pinned or whatever. SHE insisted that she would be fine while I was at work. Uh-huh. Right. Needed help dressing, un-dressing, and various things one would scarcely not hardly ask a friend to help with, can't drive, etc. Heck, I was even helping the X-ray tech holding and positioning her arm for the pics!

I was right. I knew what I was talking about. This ain't my first Rodeo!
(/brag off)

Well, good news about Spouse's broken arm: Went to the Orthopedic Surgeon today (Friday? 6 DAYS after it broke???), to find out if it needed to be pinned/plated/screwed or what. He decided that it was holding together well enough with the replacement splint(actually affects the broken area) that surgery would not be necessary. Which is good news finance-wise, but she won't be able to move it around for weeks like she would had it been pinned solid.
At any rate, she seems to be in good enough shape after the first week that she can manage on her own at home without assistance, so I called in to work and put myself back on the roster for the next assignment that comes in (Temp. construction).
So, all in all, things are going well!

RWDA, many have said it so much better than I'm about to but you're a good human, Moo knew that enough to find you. And I'm not going to finish that thought, 'cause there is a lot of cat hair flying around here, getting in my eyes, cat hair of cats off to be adopted, that I'm missing, a lot more than I should be.

Well, Eli is still out, I kinda hate to call him in on such a nice night.

On the way to school I had to break for three different squirrel younglings in the road..didn't you listen to your Momma?

well, I am glad she is able to do for herself. Just do not let her over do. It will affect the healing process. Tell her I said, bask in the attention..ask for icecream, chocolate and wine/ booze of your choice. It is only fair that you get something out of this mess!

I love Caturday and you people. With all the snark, negativity and hatefulness elsewhere on Fark this is like a beautiful island in the midst of a raging sea.

Agreed. The "raging sea" being the rest of the world.

I really enjoy to hear from the Caturday folks. I am going to try to be more involved.

the flying hair, and the tears it produces, are simply a sign of our love for our animals..there is no finer gift, than the gift of self. Applies to hoomans and to our critters. And you are correct. Moo knew who to come to for help. Even if it was to cross the bridge. It says a great deal about RWDA, that she was the one who Moo trusted to make the tough decisions. Oh, to be the one who is trusted to cross another over. It is a gift, and a great sorrow.

Love you guys.

Sorry I haven't been around much. Life has been crazy busy. First taking care of my dad when he was sick, then planning 2 funerals, then going through everything in his house and dealing with his stuff. Between that and work, not been much time for anything else.

Why?

Why do we do this.
Open the heart,
Cry.
Whoop with laughter.

Share the every day
nonsense,

Ask questions,
Receive answers.
Seek solace.

Be over-whelmed with
Understanding.

Why ask for help?

We are proud to be owned
By a furry creature.

When in need of funds,
Do not wish to be
Seen as poor.

Yet hope,
For the Power of Caturday.

We are happy to oblige.
We understand,
This is your baby.

We are Caturday
We care,
We share.
We help.

We listen.
Advise.

Tell it like it is.
Spay/neuter/ vaccinate.

For the love,
Of all those who,

Have crossed the
Rainbow Bridge.

Secure in the knowledge,
That we shall meet.
Again.

I sent you a text earlier.
Though, in all fairness, I may have sent it to your home phone which got it translated into words.

some new pics of the now departed currently last lot...
Bella the momma...
img.fark.net
She was such a sweetie the last couple of days as the hormones drained away... She's going to be a lovely companion.

Boots, the lone girl... of all our fosters she is the only one I'd call a lap cat, a very special girl...
img.fark.net
shush, I'm on a mission, just now.

Toby, a cutie...
img.fark.net
and super playful.

And Flynn, the other boy...
img.fark.net
note the paw, claws out.  This little guy is a big time climber. Every time I'd be in changing litter, he'd jump on and climb my back until he was on my shoulder, then he'd settle in, like a parrot. lol

LOL...didn't know what the heck that was so I didn't listen to it. We thought it was some sort of Somalian phone hijacking or something. Heck...I didn't even know you could send a text to a land line. Live and learn...

Can you resend to my phone or CDK's ? Or just give us a call. We're up.

Beautiful as always, and thank you. No bridge here, but the bittersweet graduation day of the fosters tugs a little at many of the same strings of our hearts
