johnson442: Latest about Spouse's broken arm: It turns out to be a "comminuted fracture", (i.e. broken into several pieces), mid-shaft Humerus. Her arm is being held together with a fibreglass splint, several elastic bandages, and a large "swathe strap" holding her arm close in to her body. No cast, as such. She does comment about feeling it 'click' if she moves her arm too much, but otherwise is in good shape. All things considered.(/brag on)I knew she would need help getting around for the short term, until her arm was pinned or whatever. SHE insisted that she would be fine while I was at work. Uh-huh. Right. Needed help dressing, un-dressing, and various things one would scarcely not hardly ask a friend to help with, can't drive, etc. Heck, I was even helping the X-ray tech holding and positioning her arm for the pics!I was right. I knew what I was talking about. This ain't my first Rodeo!(/brag off)Well, good news about Spouse's broken arm: Went to the Orthopedic Surgeon today (Friday? 6 DAYS after it broke???), to find out if it needed to be pinned/plated/screwed or what. He decided that it was holding together well enough with the replacement splint(actually affects the broken area) that surgery would not be necessary. Which is good news finance-wise, but she won't be able to move it around for weeks like she would had it been pinned solid. At any rate, she seems to be in good enough shape after the first week that she can manage on her own at home without assistance, so I called in to work and put myself back on the roster for the next assignment that comes in (Temp. construction). So, all in all, things are going well!
John Buck 41: I love Caturday and you people. With all the snark, negativity and hatefulness elsewhere on Fark this is like a beautiful island in the midst of a raging sea.[farm3.staticflickr.com image 500x354]
sno man: RWDA, many have said it so much better than I'm about to but you're a good human, Moo knew that enough to find you. And I'm not going to finish that thought, 'cause there is a lot of cat hair flying around here, getting in my eyes, cat hair of cats off to be adopted, that I'm missing, a lot more than I should be.

Mrs CDK: Sorry I haven't been around much. Life has been crazy busy. First taking care of my dad when he was sick, then planning 2 funerals, then going through everything in his house and dealing with his stuff. Between that and work, not been much time for anything else. [i384.photobucket.com image 500x375]
