In case of a further tie the Moose becomes Prime Minister.

Fun Canada Fact: The State Moose has won more elections in Canada than any human candidate.  From the Year 1835 to 1841 the Moose held every elected position in the country until the Moose was defeated by Paul LaBouche Remiox who was running for official whore tester of the Saskatchewan Province.

William Henry Harrison wrestled the moose in 1841, as a friendly exhibition as part of his inauguration to the office of President of the United States. Harrison died 31 days later from moose-related injuries.

As Harrison learned too late, Canada's state moose doesn't play.

A not insignificant number of them. Just mandate SS offices have shredders that are suitable for disposing of classified material on the premises. If you can piece together a card from a giant pile of confetti, you deserve to steal that person's SSN.

Gordon The Moose, who was Governor-General of Manitoba during those wild 1840s, is widely overlooked even though he invented poutine, founded what later became the Quebec Nordiques, and wrote some of the hit songs that brought Barenaked Ladies success in the late 1990s.

The war is why The Moose lost to Paul LaBouche Remiox for official whore tester of the Saskatchewan Province. The people felt that the Moose concentrating on new ways to call John Tyler a hoser was more important than testing Saskatchewan's whores.

Yeah, so? Right now, we live in a country where it is constitutional to require everyone who wants to vote to show a valid photo ID of themselves in order to do it even though not everyone has such an ID. That's probably not going to change anytime soon. More and more states are going to make that a requirement for their elections. I'd much rather that not be the case, but as long as it is, this is a great solution that will prevent people from being disenfranchised. AND it will help out the people who don't currently have an ID do a lot of things they otherwise can't do right now, like open a checking account.

I have no problem with a national ID so long as it's free to the person, but slapping a photo on your SS card is a half assed not well thought out idea.

I'd just rather the national passport card be free to citizens and use that as an ID.  It already exists, it's the same size as a driver's license, and the infrastructure is already there to process it.  You can't vote without being a citizen anyway (while you *can* have a SSN as a non-citizen in certain cases).
