tennyson: FTA: They found that more than 1,610 outbreaks in restaurants were responsible for sickening over 28,000 people, compared to 893 outbreaks sickening roughly 13,000 people in private homes.So... private home outbreaks sicken an average of over 14 people? That's quite something. It makes me wonder if something is messing with the data: some very large dinner parties sickening dozens or hundreds, while somebody chopping the salad with the same knife they cut the chicken, and doing in just themselves and a spouse or child, doesn't get reported at all.
Russ1642: People will always blame a restaurant. They don't wash their hands, eat food that fell on their kitchen floor where the dog scratches his ass, don't have the fridge temperature set right, etc. But when they get ill they'll always tell the doc it was the McDonalds they ate.
