Yeah, but a million GOLDEN EAGLES randomly plucking strings on an electric guitar will eventually play the entire works of Angus Young!

It was the best of songs, it was the blurst of songs.

Yeah, but will there also be a finch working the whammy bar?

Boobie thread?

If that's music, then I'm a Hottentot.

Blurst of songs?  You stupid finch!

I've visited the exhibit twice. It's a great combination of intensely cool and whimsically delightful. But you'd have to stand there for a long, long time before you heard anything approaching music.

They'll never get the slides and tremolo right.

2014-04-10 02:56:36 PM
I didn't hear any music, but just random sounds of birds hoping on and off strings. I'd still love to see the exhibit.

I'd like to see a bird perform some hammer-ons, tremolo, slides and then light the guitar on fire. That would impress me.

I also weep to think of all the bird poop on those $1000+ guitars.

Seeing as how bootlegs and personal recordings keep popping up, it's going to take a brazillion of them.

That's a Les Paul Studio. The fretboard is either rosewood or ebony. Most likely rosewood. Certainly not mahogany. Just sayin'

Will there be moonbeams and fairy tales?

Kids and their "music" these days!

I've seen this, and it's great! Birds play better than The Edge, which isn't saying much.

I dunno. I'm still waiting for the traffic lights to turn blue tomorrow.

That guy knows nothing about finches, apparently, if he's surprised that they adapt to the presence of humans and become fairly friendly.  Zebra finches are common pets.  Also, I sincerely doubt that the birds even make a connection to the fact that landing on the guitars makes noise come out somewhere.  It's just someplace to perch that's flat and not on the ground.

Anything he says about the birds' apparent motives (such as choosing softer or louder guitars at different times of day) is pure crap and just him projecting.

Goddamn performance "art".

Where are you going to get all those tiny headbands?

My cat figured out the "circle-of--fifths" bassline to 'Hey Joe'. Amazed, I cried out "Good cat! Play that again!", but she just said "meoww...ACK!" and barfed up a hairball.

I wish that loudmouth would stop talking and play the actual music synced to the birds on the guitar. This guy can't stop yammering, and the FEW shots that show the birds on the guitar have audio that is quite clearly NOT what the birds are playing.

Since they're pooping on the fretboard, they'll get Metallica soon enough.

Absolutely the same thought. That and "gives those birds some more stuff to build up their nests".

Watching that video makes me hope that the museum is privately funded.

"yeah man, we'll set up some guitars and birds man, yeah it'll be awesome..."

So stfu and let people watching the video actually hear it...

Well, I stood up next to a zebra finch.
And I chopped it down with the edge of my hand.

Hendrix, you say?

OK, whoever has photoshop skilz, add burning finches to Hendrix's guitar on fire at Monterey Pop.

Well, it did pretty much sound like Hendrix. Wake me up when they can play Yngwie Malmsteen.

I was confused by the headline.  Could not figure out how flinching zebras would pluck a guitar.
