Which would suggest there is a right way and wrong way to do art.

There's a right and a wrong way to do art. But I feel like his portraits are... well, let's put it this way: if my niece brought me something like what he did, I'd smile and tell her what a good job she did. Not because she did a great job, but because I'd feel horrible for saying anything else.

So, that. That is how I feel about the former President's artwork. He tries so hard.

With the exception of his self portrait, they all look like they either got hit in the face with a tennis racket, or someone is pushing their faces up against a window.

His self portrait seems to be the only one that wouldn't give me nightmares if it were hanging in my house. The Putin one is particularly horrid.

I get your what you're saying, but at the same time I can honestly say I've seen worse looking things hanging in well regarded modern art museums. Art is tricky that way.

After these six long, dark years under Premier Obama and his Pinko Pals, Americans are ready for a breath of fresh air.

What makes this art is the enormous amount of coverage his paintings get. That also makes it a fair target for criticism.
If he had kept it between him and his dog, nobody would give a shiat or judge.

There is... There is a balance in art that you can either so or not do. There is also a way to break the rules, but you still have to follow certain ones, or break the rules in certain ways. I don't think Bush caught anything with these pictures, especially because they're just recreations of already existing photos.

The art expert wonders if people can get past his name to look at the paintings, but I have to say that without his name, these paintings wouldn't be displayed.

Your husband's work is what we call "outsider art". It could be by a mental patient, or a hillbilly, or a chimpanzee.
