This I think I saw the chunky comic Head Explode open up for Tired Joke and Nirvana at the Lance Armstrong Ball.

2014-04-10 12:30:34 AM
I like it. She recorded a sorely under-appreciated album with the Gits as a tribute to their singer Mia Zapata, whose death some say hurt the Seattle scene more than Kurdt's.

2014-04-10 12:41:08 AM
I'd watch it.

2014-04-10 12:56:34 AM
I'm OK with this, since it isn't going to be Courtney fronting the band.  Would be more kick-ass, however, if as Frances grew up, she learned how to sing and play guitar, and is a big Joan Jett fan.

Who am I kidding, Joan will play guitar and Taylor Hawkins will take over vocals.

2014-04-10 01:36:23 AM
Yep, she's still hot.

2014-04-10 01:39:01 AM
Which head are we talking about?

2014-04-10 01:56:20 AM
I'm interested, and I don't think it will trample on any of my memories.

2014-04-10 02:00:10 AM
So they're going to stick with a whiny biatch to front, but this time someone more masculine?

2014-04-10 02:16:53 AM
Have no problem with this.  Should be really cool actually

2014-04-10 02:22:18 AM
I think her voice would work really well, actually.

Agreed.  And being Kurt was such a feminist I could see totally loving this idea.

2014-04-10 02:35:25 AM
Joan Jett > Kurt Cobain.
Just my humble opinion.

2014-04-10 02:36:24 AM
bluorangefyre:Taylor Hawkins will take over vocals.

How'd you get to stand in for Curt Cobain?  "I was his drummer's drummer."

Krist Novoselic would have had to have been hit in the head by his own bass the get on board with that idea.

/I have no idea if the guy can sing, just think the idea is funny

There is nothing that Joan Jett could not sing and make it stick.

If true, for once, something involving the Rock and Roll HOF will have been done right.

2014-04-10 05:52:07 AM
There was a time I wanted to put another dime in her jukebox, if you know what I mean.

2014-04-10 06:42:52 AM
Massive improvement.

2014-04-10 06:51:12 AM
As a huge Nirvana fan, I think this sounds like it's going to be pretty cool.

2014-04-10 07:12:12 AM
I hope they sing "Rape Me" just to see the R&RHOF organisers heads actually assplode

Nirvana still has fans?

Classic rock may get a makeover at the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where reports indict Joan Jett is poised to front Nirvana's performance.

It's a bit early for legal action, isn't it?

I thought this was funny.  'Cause it's true.

I've often thought a lot of Nirvana's songs would sound great with a chick singing them.  Joan Jett is a great choice.

I could hear Stipe doing something like About a Girl, then JJ doing Teen Spirit. And they could duet on Heart-Shaped Box.

Go ahead, play that in your head.

There are many worse choices someone could have made. I was happy to see JJ was an option. it really all depends on what songs the choose to play.

As much as I like the Foo's, I don't think Taylor needs to be involved in a Nirvana thing but i'm sure that got thrown around too.

Also happy they are letting Pat Smear be involved. I wasn't sure if he was getting inducted or not.

Yep... I had no interest in watching anything to do with that show until I read this story. It could be interesting. Joan still has it, I've been enjoying her new album.

Those of you dumping on Joan Jett fronting a Nirvana reunion for their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: who would you want?

More importantly, she can sing and play, although I suspect all those minor and diminished chords will require some practice.

Steve Martin and his banjo?

Seriously, Joan Jett would be awesome.

Why not a rotation of Justin Bieber, Adam Levine and Chad Kroger?

Hell. as someone who never cared for Nirvana and used to think that they wrecked (punk) Rock and Roll, this sounds like it's going to be pretty cool.

/Glad Kurt made Nirvana big because it opened the world's door for Grohl
//Me thinks Grohl > Cobaine

^ THIS ^

And, not that my opinion matters a good goll-dang, but as a someone who saw Nirvana both on their Bleach [twice] and Nevermind tours, I'm OK with this. If it makes Nirvana fans' heads explode [which I don't think it really will] all the better. And if it makes Courtney reach for her own shotgun, we can thank the JJ for the win.

/CL will NEVER be the real deal rocker that is Ms. Jett
//Courtney smart, Krist & Dave smarter
