bluorangefyre: Timecop was Van Damme's best movie. Sure he had some good ones before it, but not on this level. Nothing after it even came close. Also one of the best time travel movies ever.No remake could do justice to the original.

Timecop wasn't a bad movie by any means, but JCVD is best when he's using martial arts to kick ass.The correct ranking isBloodsportKickboxerUniversal SoldierTimecopThank you all.
Alphax: All I remember about it was 2 versions of Ron Silver.
FullMetalPanda: Cartman:[the boys are in the movie aisle] Dude, check it out! Time Cop on DVD. Three copies for eighteen bucks!Kyle:Why the hell would you want three copies of the same movie?Cartman:Because one copy is nine ninety-eight! But this way you save like twenty bucks!Kyle:You only need one copy, r-tard!Cartman:Okay, fine, dumbass, YOU go ahead and buy one copy for nine ninety-eight!Kyle:Okay, fine, I will! [grabs a copy] Huh, wait a minute! I don't even want ONE copy of Time Cop! [puts it back]
Wolf892: The premise is flawed. The time cops go back in time to arrest individuals who have attempted to alter history in their favour. But how would you ever know history has been altered? Once altered your present self would just accept this new history as the original one.The only way time travel movies work (In my opinion) is that once a person goes back into time and alters something they can never return to their present. Instead, from the moment that time is altered the universe is split into two, the original (which the traveler can not return to) and the parallel that hosts the traveler and carries on with the changes made to history. In a nut shell there's no going into the future and traveling into the past is a one way trip.
Flint Ironstag: Never understood how he went back in time by sitting in a rocket car on rails but arrived in the past by walking through a bit of wobbly air. At what point did he get out of the rocket car? Something like Stargate makes sense since there is an identical gate at each end.I think the writers came up with the "really cool" rocket car idea and the "risk of death by smashing into the wall" bit but when they couldn't work out how to show the arrival just said "Fark it, lets just have him walk out of thin air"
devildog123: FTA: this version of Timecop is a more gritty and grounded police storyThe studios realize that what made the movie so popular was the earnest campy cheesiness of it all, right? Not everything has to be "gritty". Sometimes you just want a movie that you sit down halfway through, and still watch the whole thing and enjoy it.
