"Anytime you have a random shooter with no reason or mindset behind them that [is] just taking rounds and putting them into cars is causing a problem for everyone."

While Kansas City, MO is much preferable to Kansas City, KS, Kansas burbs are far, far, far preferable to Missouri burbs. And really, both Kansas Cities are pretty bad. The Plaza has been unacceptable for years now. This summer should be entertaining, though.

Also, Oak Park is ever so slowly turning into the Bannister Mall...which is a shame. Not that I go there more than 2 or 3 times a year, but even then...Troost'rs everywhere.

Moustakas jerseys should be flying off the shelves now. Wearing one would mean an extremely low chance if getting hit.

I don't think they have a choice. Didn't Kansas state supreme court rule that bullets are "protected speech?" Can't infringe on their citizens first- and second-amendment rights...

Kind of like Snow Bird Season here in Tampa Bay.  Imagine my disappoint when I realized Snow Bird Season had nothing to do with shooting them.

I think America has moved to the point where mass shootings are just a fact of life like car bombs in Afghanistan.

The Plaza sucks. Chock full of pseudo-rich douchenozzles and way over the top faaaabulous people.

A woman head a loud noise while she was driving home and was shocked to find a bullet hole in the door next to where her 3-year-old had been sitting. Two people have been shot in the legs and another in the arm.

I'm thinking it's human season and the hunter has bad aim. Or a BB gun. I was in a carpool in 8th grade (+/-) when we got shot with a BB. The mom driving freaked. Only damage was a broken window and a trip to the doctor to remove glass from one boy's eye.

Dukw season!

I haven't been shot at yet, but someone did throw a banana at my truck.  Well, there was that one time a guy followed me to a parking lot to show me his gun.  That was not a nice way of handling that, off-duty officer.

I drive through the Grandview Triangle (the area where most of the shootings have happened) every day on my way to and from work. Well, I did anyway, until a couple of days ago. Not going back until the shooting stops.

Seriously. Been over there lately? The neighborhood is changing. I see more hipsters and punks than anything. Not that that matters.

/I will grant that the hookers still come out at night.

Yikes.  Too few people dying in the refurbrished Triangle, so some shooter has to take pot shots at people?  :-P  Someone is seriously damaged.  No motivation, no "manifesto", just random shooting.

What makes you think s/he has no motivation? Are YOU getting up to go shoot people?

Yeah, I drive through it twice a day - sometimes more.  You should see the new improved police presence there.  Cars deployed with what looks like four-camera surveillance systems in a perimeter around the thing, to start with.

A $7000 reward for a potential beltway sniper copy cat?  KCMO police aren't that interested in catching the guy, are they?

Same here, so that's what those things are.  I've seen a lot more cop cars and some have odd boxes on them that I wasn't quite sure what they were.  I was guessing radar, but cameras make a lot more sense now that you mention it.

I used to occasionally take the southern route if I had errands in KCMO or Lee's Summit on the way to/from work, but maybe not so much anymore.  It's I-70 for me for the time being.

Yesterday the Police were pulling over white 4 door sedans on 71 s, I was pulled over in a white 4 door Nissan, along with 1 white Kia and a off white Ford. The Ticket they gave me says it was for doing 56 in a 45, but the speed limit in the area I was pulled over in is 55. The cop never ran my license , checked my insurance or registration, just printed the ticket and sent me on my way to go pull over another white car, a Toyota Camry.

It was the weirdest thing I ve had happen to me in a while. Ill fight the ticket and should win, since I can prove the areas speed limit is 55, but damn could they be more obvious what they are looking for? As soon as the cop saw a female driver and 2 kids he was ready to run.
