We already do this, apples in the 1900s were much much smaller.

"Apple will be forced to run Windows on the Macintosh because OS X does not have the drivers."

Dvorak either makes predictions that are painfully obvious or terribly wrong. If Dvorak isn't channeling Rick Romero as peer-reviewed by the NS Sherlock Institute, he's wrong.

For example, he recently predicted that Windows XP will become a "de facto public domain OS" because hackers will take over the support that Microsoft is dropping. In the same article, he called Windows 7 worse than Vista.

I really don't understand how he can be so consistently bad and still get published.

Yeah. The  "de facto public domain OS"  is Linux and it has a much, much larger installed base, just not on desktops,a nd BTW, nobody panics about Linux reaching the support end of life.

He says crap like this because the has no idea how the technology works, like, the minor detail that "hackers" would need the complete source code to support Windows XP, and not all all OS's need "drivers."

By using the shotgun approach, he can claim that he predicted that Apple will use Intel CPUs in the Macintosh, but that came with the "because Macs will have to run Windows" prediction.

TFA has Dvorak saying that Apple doesn't have a chance in hell with an iPhone because Nokia and Motorola will continue to own the "handset" market.

Still taste like nothing.

Nope. Because the big agricultural companies manipulate fruits and veggies to look prettier, grow larger, or travel better. Flavor rarely enters into it.

Amazingly, they could control for flavor as well. Even if it is the same way each of the name-brand orange juices tastes the same no matter what season or what state you buy it.

Because he's entertainment to a lot of people.  Think about how many talking heads are out there right now, making millions of dollars by talking to millions of people, who are no smarter and know nothing more than you or I.  What are, for example, Rush Limbaugh's special qualifications that make him worth listening to on any serious subject?  And man, I want to know how to get the job of "business analyst", because I've yet to read one that sounds like they think any deeper than your average 8th grader.  So like you, I've wondered:  how do these people get these jobs, and how do they keep them?  It took me a long time to figure it out, because I always assumed you had to be smart, or networked, or have a lot of expert knowledge in an area, and these guys just didn't seem to have any of that, so how did they do it, etc etc etc...

But there is one common denominator, and I'm convinced it's the key:  they're entertaining.  They're basically professional trolls.  They say outrageous things that rile people up, both for and against what they say, and they create an emotional investment in the people who listen to them, again either for or against.  That's loosely defined as "entertainment".  Rush Limbaugh may be one of the least intelligent men I've ever heard, if I take what he says at face value, but damn does he have personal presence.  Same thing with Dvorak:  look at all the outrageous things he's written over the years.  He's a technical know-nothing, but he sure does put people on edge.

And this is the problem with today's journalism.  It isn't real journalism any more, sadly.

They probably could control for flavor if they wanted.  A lot of the flavor with strawberry's is due to sugars.  I am guessing increasing sugar in the berry would shorten the shelf life.

That's mostly due to mixing the juices to produce the desired flavor. There aren't oranges growing all over the world that produce juice with the same flavor.
