(CBS News)   Not only can stem cells treat cognitive decline in the elderly, but apparently grandma can suck them directly from your children like that salt vampire on Star Trek   (cbsnews.com) divider line 28

It's either that, or Doctor Crusher sucks on your head.

Beverly Crusher can suck on my head any time she wants.

This, on the other hand, looks entirely too much like my grandmother for comfort.

That kid needs a damn haircut. And less preppy clothing. And less expensive toys. And what the hell is that thing on his wrist? Get off my lawn.

But if old people are essentially grown up children when they get to that age, wouldn't being alone and hanging out with themselves do just as good?

this explains why the retirement homes wants people to bring their children over to visit with the elderly

it's all a sinister plot

Cognitive decline in the elderly may be the one thing that makes the requisite physical decline tolerable.  Fixing one without the other is hardly a blessing.

Martin The Mess: Beverly Crusher can suck on my head any time she wants.

Meh, a couple of beers and I'd probably let her.

Well if Granny can suck stem cells anywhere near as well as she sucks eggs, then on her death bed she'll look something like this:

She can also take a punch like the salt vampire.

IIRC, that was the first TOS episode broadcast, in spite of being the sixth episode filmed.

A currently running television series that's based on a book full of fairy tales ... no that's not obscure at all.

/Grimm has ~4.6 million viewers

It's actually pretty decently written, for what it is... but it isn't like Fark is falling all over itself greenlighting threads like it does for My Little Pony or True Detective.

/Also, I was the Weeners the obvious reference

Last week's episode took a HUGE jump in the right direction. Having the action split into two locations for so long was a serious drag on the show. Plus Adalind's reaction when she realized whose house she'd been taken to was hysterical.

Paul Newman does this in one of those Richard Russo-based films. Leans over a child's head and inhales, breathing in the youth.

Correlation does not imply causation.  It may be that the women who weren't helping out with the grandchildren weren't doing so because everyone knew they couldn't handle it, because their minds were going.

My first thought reading the headline was Filipino Granny from Grimm.
A good show but not as compelling as the Breaking Bad,True Detective type shows that generate threads.

(I also enjoyed Adalind showing up at Juliette's house though.)

Explain the references, I'm older, but to me the old ladies with the pigs look like something I'd see on "Lydia's Italian Kitchen" I watch on Saturdays on PBS.
