The private prison industry would certainly oppose it.

I don't understand why someone with a drug conviction can't get a student loan.

We'll, how else are you going to get them back into the prison system?

"I believe the program is broken and needs to be fixed," Kraus said. "I'm concerned that we're continuing to spend a large amount of federal money on a program that has so much fraud, waste and abuse."

SNAP has one of the lowest rates of fraud/waste/abuse of any government program, Sen. Will Kraus probably knows this, I don't think he is stupid, I think he is a lying sack of useless shiat.

Once someone commits a crime, any crime, they must be punished FOREVER. It's the American way.

Go ahead and keep some lifetime farkups from eating. It's not like that has backfire written all over it.

the reason you give a pittance to the poors and the addicts is to keep them from moving into your home and eating you.

mabey that's just what needs to happen before these silverspoon career politicians get the message.

Jesus, nothing like serving your sentence and making something with your life afterwards, they want to hang that farking albatross around your neck for LIFE.

Unless you're a politician or suffer from affluenza, of course.

To be fair this only applies to those that where convicted. The two groups you mentioned rarely get convicted.

Look, none of this would be an issue if you farking libtards hadn't done away with the Caste system.

How else are we supposed to get the lower castes crammed into slave labor camps?

My father in law lives in Missouri, and is on food stamps.  He's a brilliant entrepreneur and used to be a multimillionaire, but unfortunately his product line, while a natural plant, is slightly illegal.  For that, and the crime of not being as big a fish as the DEA thought he was, he did a dime in federal prison and his wife did three years because prosecutor s can be bastards.   He managed to put together a thriving eBay business because no one hires a 50-year old ex felon

At least until the Army Corps of Engineers flooded his house and destroyed his business.   Now he's just dying of liver failure because he can't get high enough on the donor list because ability to afford the procedure and follow up care is part of what they evaluate.

He's a good man, never hurt anyone, never so much as owned a gun, what would be served by making his remaining time on this earth even crueler and more humiliating than it already is?

Do politicians ever stop to think these are real people they are farming with

YESSSS!!!! Let's make people that are desperate even more desperate!  Don't try to figure out why people are desperate and attack the source of the problem!! NO WAY!!! F*ck that shiat!!  This approach could never backfire!

/could never backfire for the privatized prison industry anyway

"We know that with proper treatment and rehabilitation, people can get clean and sober and never use again," McDonald said. "If we take care, nurture the person, we keep the disease of addiction at bay. If you can't feed yourself or your family, out of frustration you're going to go back to the drugs, back to whatever criminal acts get the money for the drugs."

Obviously, the only way to keep criminals from repeating their crimes is to set things up in such a way that crime will be their only viable means of support.  USAUSAUSA
