Damn those 50s and 60s fingerstyle guys were killer!  No delay pedal?  No problem!

Also, having owned a version of that Peavey that Carl's playing, it is apparent that they didn't all suck like mine did.  Looked cool, sounded cool, but buzzed like a hornet and kept tune like its bridge was made of soft butter.

No autotune? He wouldn't make it playing at a dive bar today. Only no-talents make it today. He was way too talented.

I see the stuff my kids are listening to nowadays and wonder if real musicians will ever make a comeback.  they still exist, but kids now would rather listen to autotune bullshiat.

I've always preferred finger picking...it just feels more natural.

/sadly, will never be as good as either of those two.

I always thought i was good because I could play every Malmsteen riff there was... I listen to country almost exclusively these days, I'm lost

Seconding the love for Americana / alt country.  One of my current favorite tracks and bands.

Is it just me or does Carl Perkins look a lot like John Holmes in this video?

Its virtuousity like that that makes me sad I never learned to play guitar.  The look on George's face was
just rapture.

/Sad about his shag rug toupee, though.
