Yes, that's a likely inference from the study.  People react violently to frustration.  People don't react nearly as violently to pictures of violence.

Did everyone seriously have that much trouble with that section?  I could understand if you want to go on about Stage 4 or 5 or 6, since those throw you in all different directions with little diction while you're being swarmed by enemies that need four and six hits to kill.  The dam was cake compared to that.

FTFM.

I pay a premium for my fat pipe. Why the fark should my connection be downgraded for the schlubs? Hate hosting with lag compensation because I'm always stuck slower than the slowest asshole.

They don't let you kick the assholes either because they know they would never be able to get into a game. Well, fark them. Try getting a real ISP instead of that damn netzero dial-up.

Yes.  Poorly designed controls will make me angry, or game breaking bugs.  It's part of the reason I don't buy any of the Steam "greenlight" or "pre-release" and even release day software.

Yes, I missed out on early playing of Kerbal Space Program.  I had gotten bit by Towns (which is a lot better now) and another game that I have thankfully forgotten about.  It's probably in my library somewhere....

No shiat.  I got into Chapter 5 of Bravely Default, and thought, okay, I get it.  Go and kill all the bosses again.  Then Chapter 6.  And then I read about Chapter 7.

I remember it being difficult, but not impossible.  It was a good day if I could get through to the next level with all my turtles still...

Now, the damn Snake Pit level in Battletoads, that is where I draw the line...

Also, if I was playing two player in Battletoads, we could never make it past level 1... unless you carried the other player around the entire level.

I think the last game that I have rage quit was Dont Starve.  Great game, fun, imaginative, but I cound never get past day 5ish.  The last game I somehow get to day 15 with the nice camp that I built just near a beefalo hurd.  That morning the hurd goes into heat.  Chased out of camp at 1/8 health, beefalo hat stuck in camp and no way to get to it.  Havent played it since.

Back in college, having seen room mates destroy various pieces of computer equipment (keyboards / gamepads / etc) due to video games that were otherwise calm people I don't know if I completely agree with their results.

I will admit that some of the goal races in Mid Town Madness pretty much were set up to screw you over if you were doing well though so I don't really blame them.

It was harder for me than the bike level of Battletoads.

The speedbike level was fast and twitchy, but it was memorizable (and I played a lot of quake/2 back then). The turtle level ... took finesse, with shiatty controls. Infuriating!

I remember I was playing super castlevania on SNES and I was on the frankenstein level and I forget the exact enemies but there was a spider and I was on a stair case and as I tried to escape a crow the spider web hit me and and fell off the stair case to my death.  God I was pissed.

Also, those hunchbacks are bastards.  Leaping around constantly.

Have I mentioned I hate the crows also?  Well I do.

Its honestly called "Goat Simulator", it was released on April 1rst (but there was game play videos before that).  I am really tempted to buy it for the $10, even if I'm just entertained for a silly 3-4 hours, it'd be worth it I think.  It was originally a physics demo that they decided was just too funny to let go, the devs purposely leave in funny bugs.

i feel like if you go into a game with low expectations on your ability to master it, you don't get frustrated as much if you approached it seeking immediate reward

so ironically sucking at games is probably better for your health than being good at them...

First snake pit or second snake pit?
Second snake pit was my grave pretty much every time, I managed to beat the game /once/ so as far as I remember it was clear sailing after that
