"As the Speaker said months ago, we are willing to look at extending emergency unemployment insurance as long as it includes provisions to help create more private-sector jobs - but, last week, Senate Democratic Leaders ruled out adding any jobs measures at all," said Michael Steel, a spokesman for Boehner, on Monday. "The American people are still asking, 'where are the jobs?' and House Republicans are focused on our jobs agenda for families and small businesses."

Let me guess, the focus rhymes with axe butts.

SevenizGud: Yeah, because our dearest Patriots like Franklin and Washington and Jefferson would have be totally cool with taking money from working people to give it to bottom-of-the-barrel turd-chucking losers.

One year later:  I just can't imagine why we couldn't convince all those turd-chucking losers to vote Republican.  It's a mystery.

In January 2014:

But passage by the Senate was far from certain, and House Speaker John Boehner signaled Tuesday that he has no intention of bringing the extension to the floor of the House for a vote unless the price tag is offset by budget cuts.

FTFA: The legislation is based on a bipartisan deal struck last month between Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI) and Dean Heller (R-NV). It includes retroactive compensation for the roughly 2 million unemployed workers who lost their benefits when the program expired on Dec. 28. The roughly $10 billion cost is covered with pension reforms and user fees.

OK, here is how it is paid for. All is now OK right?

SevenizGud: mrshowrules: How can the GOP be simultaneously against food stamps, unemployment benefits, minimum wage increase and job creation?

Uhm:

A) Pay stupid lazy people to be stupid and lazy
B) Pay stupid lazy people to be stupid and lazy
C) Pay stupid people more than the job is worth because the government says so
D) False - republicans are not against job creation.

Remember it is the GOP who have jobs. It is the stinky lefties who rely on the government to steal from actual useful humans to give to them.

I'm curious...what do you do for a living?  If the spittle-soaked tirades I see you constantly go on about the stupid, the lazy, the moochers, etc. are any indication, whatever it is you do must be the manliest man job ever held by a man that really should require two men.

Dr Dreidel: Shouldn't that be "baby hangar"? As in "where babies are stored between flights"?

// or whatever they do between births
// been a while since biology
// I'll show myself out...

In this case, hangar works.

Baby hanger?

=====================================

I'm guessing the GOP being against this not so much because they hate the unemployed, but because the benefits would actually help the economy which would make Obama look good.  And they WILL NOT allow something to happen that would make a Democratic president look good.

Really, it's so bad now the GOP on the national level has actually become anti-American.

They will kill it so they have more time to debate whether their congressional salary is larger enough to live on and should they vote themselves a raise
