Is your Windows computer running just fine?

A.  If yes, than you are probably running XP.

B.  If no, you're running ME, Vista or 8.

C.  You might also be running 7, in which case congratulations!  You're probably running just fine.

Walker: Hitting the start button and seeing what it says on the side also takes too long.

It's often hidden, but you can still find out from the Start button...

- Rectangular and green with the word START: That's XP.
- Round, no words, and "Start Search" at the bottom of the Start menu: That's Vista
- Round, no words, and "Search Programs and Files" at the bottom: That's Windows 7
- "The what?" - Windows 8

Diogenes: You can quickly check if you are running Windows XP by heading to, a helpful website built by Microsoft.

Because going to Computer -> Properties is too taxing.

Trust me when I say there are people that are computer illiterate enough to not know they can do that.
