How to court the female vote:

Rub their feet while you pretend to listen to them talk about every boring detail of their day and nod your head and say "I know" and "you're right" a lot.

The conservative's problem is, now and forever (well, not literally, but for a while), that they're entire worldview is from the perch of those with privilege in society. That's really it. They not only have nothing to offer those without it, but even their attempts to try to imagine the perspective of those without it is a lost cause. It's pathetic.

I found some leaked ad copy on the tubes:
"Look, toots. I know you're worried if you made my Rob Roy just so, and I can just imagine the stress when your vacuum isn't as nice as Doris' across the street, but you just don't worry your pretty little head about this political stuff -- after all, you don't want to get wrinkles and force me to bang my secretary Dennis...um, I mean 'Denise,' of course."

I'm pretty sure it's been said before but if your plan is dependent on either: Women not remembering every thing you say about them that might be considered negative, or Women being inclined to forgive you without some major pleading and admissions of guilt, well then you have a bad plan.

Because there's nothing women couldn't care less about than something flawed that later shapes up and supports them.

Counterintuatively many of the more social countries like Norway solved much of the pay gap by giving Men paid maternity leave.

Equal pay is nothing but a distraction from Obamacare.

To be honest here, I have to applaud them.  The actually realized the 'women don't need equal pay because we work too much' argument was laughably complete bullshiat.  This at least has only a thin veneer of bullshiat.

Noticed how you skipped over the part where he and his wife had major financial problems and sell some stocks just to get buy.   My heart's breaking just imagining how bad of a spot they were in to do that.

2014-04-07 03:18:09 PM
Equal pay is not a distraction unless you are so simple minded that you can only work on one thing at a time.

The truth is that the GOP is trying to distract people from equal pay by relying on the old standby Fartocare.

They used to do the same thing with abortion, create a wedge issue and use it as a distraction technique whenever possible.

The GOP is nothing but a bunch of horrible petty cheap people.

How dare you malign a bootstrappy job creator! Life was not easy for them in school, here Ann Romney tells us about the extraordinary sacrifices that had to be made just so they could get by:

They were not easy years. [...]
We were happy, studying hard. Neither one of us had a job, because Mitt had enough of an investment from stock that we could sell off a little at a time.
The stock came from Mitt's father. When he took over American Motors, the stock was worth nothing. But he invested Mitt's birthday money year to year - it wasn't much, a few thousand, but he put it into American Motors because he believed in himself. Five years later, stock that had been $6 a share was $96 and Mitt cashed it so we could live and pay for education.

And yet, there is a pretty good chance that it WILL actually work.  No sarcasm.  No joke.  Just utter disappointment.  We on Fark often dismiss and ridicule the GOP for their hypocrisy and refusal to deal with reality outside their little bubble, but it can't be denied that it works.

Hey, thinking is hard, especially when one also has to worry about separating the laundry loads, what to cook for dinner, what day to pick up your husband's dry cleaning.

And quite honestly, men are just inferior to women in being able to really connect with the gals at the level they can best understand.

Yeah, it doesn't matter if you're a gas station clerk, a neurosurgeon, an anesthesiologist nurse, or a server admin. As long as you're successful (well, because otherwise you're fired), have similar experience, and live in the same region, you should be able to divide total compensation by hours worked and be pretty close. No sense trying to compare the pay for a successful vascular surgeon in Marquette, MI to one in Chicago, IL.
