Okay, at the very least, Johnny Rotten as Herod sounds like a frickin' awesome idea.  Boyd & Williams...probably will be fine (I hope).  Not sure how I feel about the NSUCK boy as Pilate though.

\best Pilate other than the movie I've ever seen was a girl that looked like a dominatrix in a business suit
\\same show had a "Simone" Zealot, gotta love modern collegiate drama groups

Michelle Williams

I didn't even know Heath Ledger's ex could sing.

The guys from NSYNC were good singers. Their target audience was annoying and their songs were vapid, but they weren't exactly cats screeching on the fence.

Lydon is little more than a cashed up Chav. I never understand the hero worship often enjoyed by antisocial borderline sociopaths.

My wife loves JC Chasez. He put out at least one or two solo albums. He never got the push that Timberlake got but they're not bad by any means. I think it has the potential to be a good casting.

Jesus, You just won't believe
The hit You've made around here
You are all we talk about
The wonder of the year

Oh, what a pity
If it's all a lie
Still I'm sure that You can rock
The cynics if You try

At last, all too well, you can see where we all soon will be?

Best Pilate I ever saw was Dennis DeYoung, of all people.

Probably a lot of money for not much work.  Herod's Song is a 7 minute set-piece in the middle of the show, and it's the only time he appears in teh show.

And Johnny has never turned down easy money.

Touche!
I did forget about the Sex Pistols 'reunion' and his speech about it. (Youtube it, I'm in the middle of a Myrath playlist, lol)

Cashed up (Chav=bogan=n******=insert underclass slur of your choice)

A.B.S. - you really don't?  I'm sure if you look harder you could figure it out.  You don't have to like it but do you really not understand it?

If you're throwing cashed up Chav around I don't suppose you'll exert the effort.

Please, I just had to look up what chav meant and it's nowhere near as offensive as the N word. It's no different than calling an asshole an asshole. We have our own version of chavs in the U.S. They're what you might call coonts, which here is a much more offensive term.

If one gets offended by being called a Chav, then one mostly likely IS a Chav.

I saw a touring production a few years ago with Corey Glover (Living Colour) as Judas. The goosebumps still haven't gone down. I wish there were more/better videos of it available, other than crappy cell phone recordings.

Yeah, I was pondering that. Granted, it IS my favorite song in JCS and I'm betting Lydon could hit it out of the park. But I don't think I'll be shelling out money just to see it. . . I'm sure it'll turn up on Youtube.

Now if Lydon had been cast in the Murray Head (Judas) role, THAT would have been worth the price of admission. . . .

I listen to the original cast recording every year during holy week. Good to meditate on considering the whole story is told from Judas' perspective.

JCS was the first musical my mom took me to see, and I have been in love with the show ever since. I was fortunate enough to see Ted Nealy and Carl Anderson during the "20th Anniversary of the Movie" tour that also had Dennis DeYoung as Pilate. I've seen Ted Nealy perform two additional times along with Corey Glover as Judas. Such a phenomenal show, if you get the right casting. I'd be interested to see this version as well.

Back together? I thought PIL was shorthand for "that Sex Pistols guy and whatever studio musicians happened to be hanging around that day".

No?

Nope. Whole other thing, my friend. More along the lines of Cabaret Voltaire than Sex Pistols.

Youtube it. It's worth your time.
