Well played, students!

That was much funnier than I thought it would be.

I hope it was funny.

I can't believe the video is even real as I can't believe that a professor actually has that policy, the lawsuits would be coming in quickly.

So I'm going to guess some sort of marketing class or something, especially since they never use the professors name "Hey Professor, professor, hey professor!" etc.... Who does that?

I did have a professor with a "if you're not here at 7:00 on the dot, the door will be locked, if you knock, I'll ignore you. He showed up fifteen minutes late for the first class ;)

Sometimes, the most valuable lessons aren't in the syllabus.

Yeah, had to listen to it a second time up close where I could read the screen.  Tiny amount of effort.  But worth it.  I thought it was pretty good.

my stats prof did that, every day he walked in and locked the doors behind him. Even if you were on time, if you were behind him no class for you. I don't know how he got away with it but he did. On a related note, my Computer Architecture prof wouldn't take questions from the class, if you raised your hand and dared interrupt him he would point to the guy next to you and demand that they answer your question while the lecture continued at an even quicker pace. I got B's in both, hardest B's I've ever earned.

Or what?

I'm glad the professor had a sense of humor...or that could have gone horribly wrong.  Well-played.

I think part of the joke is that Aquinas is a Catholic college.

Thank you for the context! (Michigan, represent! Sweet.)

Now imagine if they called the girl and she wasn't in on it.... and it turned out she was farking the professor.... well, that probably would be a fake.

My first year comp sci prof had the "no questions" policy during class because (and yeah, he usually was right when people asked anyway) the questions were from the smartasses who were trying to stump the prof or show how much they knew.

A business teacher used to make us explain why we were late and beg for forgiveness from "Mister Happy", a happy face drawn on the board, except half the class thought it was fun to ham it up for the apology.

It may have been funny but my annoyance far out weighed the humor.

Came here to say this. It's amazing what 2 seconds of forethought can do.

/but it would be more amazing for someone to make a phone that simply flashes an icon on your screen when you're shooting sideways. cuz that's totally unpossiburru using today's technology, right?

As a general rule, the answer to:

Q:  Why do you have this dumb seeming policy?
is
A:  Because I used to not have it and a whole slew of jackasses before you ruined it.  I'd be happy to share those stories with you after class.

Did you miss the part where the professor got embarrassed and apologized to the girl for making her take the call? Or when the joke was exposed with a single word, for a massive laugh? Neither of those would have happened if such obvious clues to its phoniness had been given to the professor. There's a difference between really getting someone, and merely being a wiseass.

Every time I see a video or someone filming the wrong way, I think why can't someone just build it into the camera app so when ever it's being held wrong, it automatically flips the picture around. A few times with it being really small and it won't even have to be used anymore.

What would be the basis for a lawsuit?  His class, his rules, within the boundaries of the law, yes?

How was that conservative humor?  It was actually kind of risque for a Catholic private school.

You answered your own question. Tight ass religious institutions aren't known to be liberal. Some even fire you if you get knocked up w/o a marriage certificate.
