Didn't we have a turkey attack a school bus yesterday? It's starting...

Have you noticed the new windshields are saving the planet by being lighter?

I've had the experience, several times, of driving down the road and seeing a bird coming towards me and thinking, "That bird's got its timing off."  Fortunately, never happened with a goose.  Regular birds just bounce off.

One of my greatest memories is driving southbound in a work vehicle on US 97 in Oregon, as the sun was setting over Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson, and the rest of the Cascades. Truly, a beautiful sight to see as the skies continued to darken.

I remember seeing a large predatory bird (an eagle or an owl, methinks) take off from a tree that was after a bend in the road, and I thought nothing of it until suddenly two GIANT WINGS were in my field of vision. The farker either tried to grab the antenna or the yellow lights on top of the vehicle, and luckily we were aerodynamic enough and he flew just right to fly over us. We didn't hear a thud, and didn't see the bird hit the road in our rear-view mirrors, so all was well.

Somewhere I've seen pictures about a bad mixture of Wild Turkey and Coca-Cola. Yes, it is a turkey that went through the windshield of a Coca-Cola tractor-trailer.

Damn, geese are stupid, probably did it on purpose.

The geese in many neighborhood keep waddling up like they own the place no matter how many times I pick them up and throw them back into the pond

I've seen a geese wander away from being given food to go harass people, the only way they've not gone the way of the dodo is that they can fly

Probably a good thing the goose didn't survive. Geese are mean motherfarkers and that would be one pissed off goose in that person's face.

2011, I had a similar experience. Driving late at night on a highway (my sister and gauged our drive times... poorly), and all of a sudden a HUGE owl comes gliding towards the car windshield but pulled up at the last minute to avoid us. When I told our cousin the next day she said it was probably a grey owl, and we were lucky we didn't hit it since it probably would have broken the windshield.

Awesome birds out that way. Wish I could go back...

I've hit lots of birds with vehicles. Never a goose though. They seem really big.

Ducks and chickens aren't that big of a deal. Messy, but not going to kill you.

I dunno. Seems suicidal, with people being unintended casulties.
Or maybe they all need glasses.
Or....they found the stash, man.

I disagree, this is one species I want to see extinct or confined to zoos.

CSB: One time I was driving on a road that weaves its way through a series of ponds and a flock of geese were coming in for final head on toward my car. One of them misjudged his height, his feet planting almost a foot below the roof on my windshield with a thwap! Immediately his feet get turned out from under him and the tops of his webbed feet make a screeching noise as they slide up the windshield. I was able to see him land safely in the pond through the rear view mirror before busting up laughing.

I had quite a few goose encounters due to living in Anchorage. Mostly as an innocent bystander due to their own squabbles. The one vehicle related one was three geese just hanging out playing poker or doing whatever geese do, when one of them started chasing the other two (see also: wild goose chase). The one in front just sailed over the top of my hood. The one who instigated the event turned off and went behind me. The middle one did a header straight into my driver side window, which thankfully (for me) was closed.

Another time I was shooting the shiat with friends at the college campus and another wild goose chase started and I had to eat pavement to not get my head taken off as they came through.
