EdNortonsTwin: It's interesting that when people talk shiat about bikers they are always a safe distance away.

Because I don't tend to hang around all you can eat buffets that often.

Now if only the silphium plant made its reappearance this would truly be helpful.

Englebert Slaptyback: iron de havilland

On reflection... yeah. I might prefer a Harley to no bike at all. I've used a twist and go scoot for quite a while when my own bike was being worked on.

Glad you decided to reconsider. :-)

Harleys aren't my thing, but it's not what people ride - IMO it's more important that they ride.

I'd be perfectly happy to take every Harley on the planet--and every person who makes the farking things--and throw them in the bottom of the ocean. After compacting them into one big solid mess. They're not a bike so much as a "look at me, I have a motorcycle!" idiot indicator.

/love bikes, despise Harleys
//no bike should wake everyone on four streets up every day at 3am when the owner heads out to work and terrorize infants and dogs daily when the owner returns or goes anywhere because it's loud enough to wake the dead in China
///seriously, buy a real goddamned bike

I like my bikes small and weird. This SL175 looks a lot different now. This is how it looked right after I got it running enough to get it home from my buddies place.

Pretty much what an HD rider told me soon after I got my Can-Am Spyder.  "Two wheels or three, the important thing is that you're riding."

Anyone recommend new riding boots?

With inbuilt trademark squeak.

I prefer my Sidi's...

Even if I highside at 60 as long as I can hit the ground feet first I'm good to go.

Where exactly in Libya do you go pick up a Harley?

kroonermanblack: Hey, biking thread!

Anyone recommend new riding boots? I've got some decent wolverines, but want to try something new, maybe a lace up.  Has to have a rubber sole, has to be leather, and has to be at least 5-6" tall. Vastly prefer steel toe.

Obviously I want comfortable, Don't really give a shiat about looks. Not particularly interested in 'riding boots', I typically just wear steel toe work boots.

I wear Tourmaster Response - had them for several years now. Extremely comfortable, keep your feet warm and dry, might be a bit shorter than you want though, so check them out, also look at the Tourmaster Solution ... taller boot.

All depends on the skill of the rider. My Harley goes around corners quite well and accelerates like a beast coming out of them.

/My bike is heavily modified though
