An article from February 13th? Really?

How long has this article been sitting around? Three and a half weeks?

No, the Harper government would hire him, and make him Minister of Finance.

ftfa: "Today was a classic victory for Washington establishment interests, and the people who lost today are the American people," Cruz told reporters after the vote. He said he didn't regret forcing 12 Republicans - including McConnell and Cornyn -- into a vote that could hurt them with conservative voters in the upcoming GOP primaries.

This Darling of the Teatards is Increasingly becoming persona non grata among the Moneycons and making civil war within the GOP almost inevitable.

I believe it was Sun Tzu who first noted that when your enemies are fighting bitterly among themselves a prudent warrior makes lots and lots of popcorn.

Hehehehehe...double-plus goodness. :)

Man, this is going to be awesome. Instead of Newt playing the sharp-tongued but squishy soft GOP provocateur role as in 2012, a much younger, just as smart and even sharper tongued Ted have that role, flaying in turn all the Rinos and Santorums of the field. Just think, his merely declaring will clear the decks of some of the wannabes. Those left will have to really have their shiat together to successfully stand up to Ted's invective. Man, he's going to have the right-wing base fired up, but all for naught. If he wins the nomination Hillary will mop the floor in the EC with him by what...400 to 135?

Do eet, TED...DO EET!!!

I can't decide if I find this prospect more hilarious or terrifying.  Hilarifying, I guess.

It would be especially hilarious if Cruz won the primary and then was disqualified because he couldn't prove his citizenship.

Nobody likes to vote to raise the nation's borrowing limits

Funny how it was almost completely uncontroversial until about six years ago.

Yeah, and how the all-time debt ceiling raising champion is St. Ronnie. From the Wiki, "The debt ceiling has been raised 74 times since March 1962, including 18 times under Ronald Reagan, eight times under Bill Clinton, seven times under George W. Bush, and five times under Barack Obama."

Is it bad that I kind of want him to succeed? I want to see Ted manipulate the GOP into getting primaried out. I want to see the most red faced mouth frothing Tea Party members get nominated. So psychopathic that even moderates and independents take one look and say "Well. Looks like I'm voting Democrat." Maybe then we can flip some seats this year and finally end this protracted  Sisyphusparallel and get shiat done.

But then I realize that this all banks on the idea that Americans are finally wising up and not voting for crazy anymore, and I just don't know if we're there yet.

"But the most widespread effect from the decline of the republican party, attributed largely to it's extremism which the country had just exited a 10 year war in the middle east over, was the associated decline in the quality of the trolls on message boards across the country. With ever less defensible positions, in hindsight, it was inevitable that the very core of the party -- the most disturbed -- would be the closing chorus in a period that would later be personified in history books across the spectrum as the "Era of Cruz-Con Trolls"

FTFA: In so doing, he forced a dozen Republicans - including  Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and John Cornyn of Texas, the number two Republican -- to cast politically hazardous votes to break the gridlock and pass legislation.

I have to question the wisdom of putting your fellow Senator from Texas in this position. He's going to be talking to the same base and same constituency you are. He's going to be involved with many of the same donors. He may not be the tea party darling you are, but if he wins reelection this year what do you think the chances are that he's going to help you in either 2016 or 2018?

They won't necessarily vote Democrat...they just won't vote. Comes to the same thing really.
